I have been working at Management & Training Corp. full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Bonuses are of good amounts. Medical insurance is okay but use to be great. Stayed employed with MTC for over 5 years and it was for the insurance and the students.

    Cons

Big corporation trying to cut corner to make a profit. They tell employees to work harder with less. The pay is below market and raises are very minimal. We received a one cent raise one year and a three cent raise the next. Asked for a raise and was told to be happy that we have a job. Management has no teaching experience and has forgot what it is like to be at the bottom.

    Advice to Management

Remember what it is like to be at the bottom and provide cost of living raises rather than the slap in the face raises that you provide. Get management that have teaching experience.

Great management team. Company takes care of their own. Loved my team.

    Cons

Salary could be better. Not much opportunity for advancement but able to move to different departments.

    Pros

It's a noble career, and you get a sense of accomplishment when you see your students graduate. You learn to work with a multitude of cultures.

    Cons

The hours for counselors are from 1pm to 10pm which can be difficult if you have a family.

It can be overly bureaucratic at times.

I worked at Management & Training Corp. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The students and the learning opportunities are great. Helping students meet their goals is worthwhile. I would not say no for another opportunity to be employed.

    Cons

The pay is low concerning the job pressure and overworked staff. The management is lack luster at best. Staff gossip and create an unpleasant environment. No opportunities to move up.

I worked at Management & Training Corp. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You can work as hard or as easy as you want.
Lack of good supervision and management.
    NEGOIATE your salary up front!

    Cons

You better have another job to pay the bills.
It isn't about working hard and trying to better yourself.
Lack of leadership from Director to Supervisor.

    Advice to Management

When you hire an employee who is honest, dependable, hardworking and loyal, do a better effort in trying to retain his employment.
When you promote a person to a supervisory position, you probably should train that person or have training available for that person. Don't assume that person knows or has supervisory experience.
