    Pros

Great company. Focus on its employees.

    Cons

The company sometimes is resourced constrained.

    Advice to Management

Ensure you have sufficient resources to perform all of the work necessary to run the back office.

I have been working at Mandiant full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay is pretty good. Salary is low but bonus and extras are good.

    Cons

Technical consultants are awesome but management is tyrannical. The company has lost a lot of talent leaving. The company talks crap about its customers and lack of security. It is off the hook hearing some 22 year kid talking smack about the lack of security a company did not invest in. They do not train to advance talent to management.

    Advice to Management

Clean house... Stop acting that there are no other players -- there is a lot of competition.

    Pros

World-class talent, mission-oriented mindset, working "incidents that matter", good compensation & benefits. Having Mandiant experience on your resume lets you command a premium salary-wise when its time to move on.

    Cons

The acquisition by FireEye caused a massive talent exodus due to a shift in business priorities (profit instead of respectability & renown) and pressure to cut down on overhead costs. An idiotic corporate travel policy enforced by FireEye & being constantly on the road combined were a major morale sap. Leadership & experience within the Professional Services component was gutted when several long-time Mandiant employees refused to push FireEye product on customers. MCIRT was neutered and hamstrung by bad/incompetent management eager to satisfy unrealistic demands by FireEye. Intel team gutted and demoralized.

    Advice to Management

Get out while you can, Mandiant is a shell of its former self.

I worked at Mandiant full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

the office space was very nice.

    Cons

i was told to "step up my wardrobe" by my direct supervisor even though I never left the office for my job. most people around me wore jeans and a t-shirt.

basically i felt like i was eye candy and nothing more.

    Advice to Management

learn how to treat your employees.

I worked at Mandiant full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

During my time at Mandiant, by far and away, the best part was getting to work with the other employees. I've been around the block once or twice and, prior to Mandiant, I had never worked with so many outstanding people. Every person there either could have been a team lead or was a team lead or would become a team lead. Everyone was committed to making the company and the products we produced great.

    Cons

The culture shifted. People moved on. Familiarity bred contempt. There were so many new hires that instead of being integrated into the culture, they brought their own culture.

    Advice to Management

I absolutely loved working for Kevin. I would do so again in a heartbeat.

I have been working at Mandiant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The food, the people and the intellectual atmosphere combine to make this an excellent place to work. There is always help or the opportunity to help and learn.

    Cons

Sometimes it's easy to spread ones self very thin and while possible, deep technically diving isn't always a possibility.

    Advice to Management

    More time off.

    Pros

Mandiant has a wealth of technical projects and is a great place for people who like owning up to big tasks. The work is as personally fulfilling as it is immediately valuable to the businenss, which can be a rare treat in some organizations.

    Cons

Fast pace and long hours - only if it's not your thing.

    Advice to Management

Management is solid. Unified vision, friendly, sharp and motivating.
