I worked at Manpower (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Quick process to get the job. Took about 3 days. Well integrated into the company I worked for (EMC).

    Cons

Very small opportunity for upwards movement. Makes a good stopgap.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more professionally with employees. Coworkers were often treated like children when asking about opportunity.

    I worked at Manpower full-time

    Pros

Call center very high paced atmosphere. Got paid every Friday. Liked working 10:30 -7:00 shift.

    Cons

The downside is that you make $2.00 an hour for doing the same job as other department. Was suppose to go direct with walmart in 30 days that turned into over 90 days.

    Pros

Quick work, when you need a job.
Pays weekly, without holding back the first pay period.
    Often leads to permanent position.

    Cons

Not guaranteed a permanent position - even after working as a contract employee for nearly two years.
No increases in salary or vacation time.
No real benefits. Technically, they offer insurance, but it's unaffordable at their pay rates.

    Advice to Management

For long-term contract employees (who have certainly brought some revenue to your company) offer some kind of negotiation services with the employer.

I worked at Manpower full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Get paid weekly - and promptly. If I turned in my hours by Friday morning, I usually had my pay in my account by the following Tuesday morning - unless Monday was a holiday.

Importantly, this company offers a wide variety of flexible opportunities for both long and short-term temporary assignments. Many of these assignments have the potential to turn into a permanent position at the client company, if you perform well and stay long enough to complete the contract.

If you have no experience, such as a recent graduate - or if you're transitioning to a different position/skill set - then doing this kind of temp work can help you gain valuable, recent experience that you can list on your resume to help you locate a permanent position.

    Cons

No paid holidays unless you have enough hours (which is hard to achieve), and their health plan is far too expensive for the very limited coverage it offers (you'll be better off with a subsidized ACA plan, which is what I had while at this company).

This is standard, however, with most temp agencies... and frankly I think Manpower treats it's temp workers much better, both in pay and in respect, than many other agencies do. So it's

    Advice to Management

Paying for some standard holidays - at least for those who are on long-term assignments and have put in at least a month or more at the assignment - would not hurt your bottom line that much...and it would make you a leader in the industry, thereby increasing revenue by attracting higher quality recruits to fill open positions.

Also, you may want to search for a more affordable health insurance plan for your employees, as the one you offer now is nearly useless. The cost is far too high, and the coverage almost useless - especially since most of your employees are earning less than $14/hour, at least in the northeastern PA area.

I worked at Manpower part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good initial contact, but no follow-up! When in tried to call back for my scheduled phone appointment, I was told to call back tomorrow!

    Cons

    Bad Customer Service.
    Doesn't resolve issues.
Doesn't offer to help Customer's when they call back for follow-up.
Also, the company needs to improve overall customer service.

    Advice to Management

Instruct your workers to make sure that they follow-up with clients!

I have been working at Manpower full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nothing. There is nothing good about this company.

    Cons

They lie to you and tell you it is full time. It is not. Many weeks it is barely 20 hours a week. One agent will tell you something, and another will contradict it, and a third will deny it. They lie to you and tell you there is going to be a raise in 90 days. You won't get it. If you have a disability, they will harrass you. This company is truly bad to work for and there are a lot of better agencies out there so go find one!

    Advice to Management

Get better agents in the Phoenix, Arizona area. The people you have now are really, really bad, don't hesitate to lie, and do lie on a regular basis. They also intimidate and harrass people with disabilities.

    Pros

Occupational stability, steady employment and delivery of income.

    Cons

Pay is extremely low for the delivery of monthly services, the measurable goals and achievable requirements.

Note: Happy dedicated employees come from fair pay and fair personal gains.

    Advice to Management

Increase pay based on experience and professional education for individual with several Masters Degrees and offer advancements to higher level occupational opportunities and positions. Possible reason for high turn over ratio.
