Pros
Best platform for big data. No need for additional clusters for HBase and Kafka. It is all in one platform.
Cons
API's for MapR-DB JSON could be improved.

- Great opportunity of building new products from scratch - Excellent product base - Great team dynamics - Prudent management of money by exec team - Management heart in the right place, want to grow to become a public company, but not with growth at all costs but with real and differentiated value creation for customers and time-tested business practices - Very good health coverage - no daily free meals but frequent, impromptu and planned events make up for it - Adding best talent every month world over - attractive ISOs Read about some negatives reported by former employees - some of it *was* true but a *lot* has changed for the better. There's always some flux in a fast paced org like MapR so people come and go during different stages of the journey, a natural part of start-up life.
Cons
- no 401K match - no cash bonus - great product and brand that no one has heard of compared to the Green guys
