Once a great company to work for, now cares little about it’s people.

    Pros

There are still some smart, friendly and hardworking people around. Benefits are good, although they have been cut in recent years (long term incentive gone for lower grades for example).

    Cons

The current leadership of the company has taken advantage of the power they have had during the oil market downturns and pandemic to create a “lucky to have a job” mindset. Culture of finger pointing. People development is no longer valued. Company strategy is reactive, resulting in low employee buy-in through all levels. The company promotes leaders who are the loudest voice in the room and most ruthless with their staff. Not a lot of diversity among leadership both in style and composition.

    They don’t care

    Business Outlook

    Pros

    Great schedule and work/life balance

    Cons

Got rid of a ton of benefits in the last year with no positive additions to make up for it. New building is horrible layout, and people are dreading it. They have made one thing clear: you should consider yourself lucky to have a job, so don’t complain. Used to be a place people spent their entire careers, not anymore. Has become a revolving door of people

Great Work-Life Balance and Compensation but Lacking Loyalty

Mar 10, 2021 - Reservoir Engineer in Houston, TX
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Work-life balance, compensation, culture among individual contributors is awesome. Supervisors and lower-level management is usually supportive and empowering.

    Cons

Supervisors and lower-level management is very inconsistent (years of experience and how hands-on or -off they are). The same employee is often treated/recognized differently between managers leading to inconsistent feedback and direction.
