I have been working at Marathon Petroleum full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

7% dollar for dollar match 401k, pension plan, health insurance, competitive salary, and professional working environment. Management is very supportive of the young engineers and make employees feel valued.

    Cons

Time off could be better, and locations are not ideal for someone interested in living in a city. Standard 2 weeks paid vacation.

I have been working at Marathon Petroleum as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

My experience as an intern in the lab at Marathon Petroleum has been invaluable. Having the opportunity to witness the daily operations of the lab, work with a large variety of instruments, and learn how the work performed in the lab plays a role in the refinery has helped me understand much more about my chosen field of education!

    Cons

There really aren't any less than satisfactory things to say. The company treats it's employees very well.

I worked at Marathon Petroleum as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Co workers really wanted me to succeed and open to help me learn. The work environment was pretty laid back, no one was breathing down your neck all the time.

    Cons

No real complaints about the company or work environment. The only things I didn't like about the job was due to the fact that the position was not as technical as I would like.

I have been working at Marathon Petroleum full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great company with excellent work life balance. Fantastic 401K and pension benefits. Competitive compensation relative to industry peer group,.

    Cons

As the site grows, sometimes I feel as if we're understaffed. However, this does bring about new opportunities for growth and exposure to new projects.

I worked at Marathon Petroleum as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Marathon is very pro-teamwork. Everything is done for the betterment of the company. I did not experience anyone in my time there that was working just to get themselves bumped up the corporate ladder.

    Cons

Depending on your location and department, not everyone works the same hours. The refinery atmosphere is much more laid back than corporate, so if you want to dress up everyday or don't have thick skin, this probably isn't for you.
