I have been working at Marble Slab part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a fun, low-stress job. You can become a shift leader relatively easily, just work hard and be a role-model and you'll get it.

    Cons

Low pay. Tips are really good at my location, but that's not the case everywhere.

    Pros

    -Service with a smile!
-They take very seriously the sanitary conditions in their stores. If they don't, fruit flies and cockroaches come and that's a no-no when it comes to ice-cream and health.
    -Homemade Ice-Cream!

    Cons

Customers can be rude over unnecessary and minor problems.

    Advice to Management

Don't overwork your employees if they are good employees. Meaning, if they are going to school and they only want to work a certain amount of hours... don't make them work more, but that's more of a general thing for every company.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Marble Slab part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Tips on top of hourly wage, overtime whenever I wanted, flexible schedule, fast paced, energetic coworkers, hours even in the winter (which is a big deal when you live in a tourist location)

    Cons

All of this is probably pretty specific to the location I worked at because these are franchises, but I never got my paycheck on time, there were times when I would work overtime and have to demand I be payed time and a half for it. My boss was incredibly unprofessional, and at times inappropriate with underage female employees.

    Advice to Management

    Check on franchises more often.

I have been working at Marble Slab part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Keep in mind that everything I say may only pertain to the specific location I worked at, because these are franchises. This is a great first job: flexible schedule, not too long hours, easy work, and you get tips. It is a great job for learning how to provide good customer service, therefore being a decent springboard to other jobs.

    Cons

The particular location I worked at had a manager that was fairly nice, and knew the job well, but he did not take care of the location. Most things were fixed with duct tape and would break constantly. He would also allow workers to slack off on cleaning, resulting in a not so sanitary environment sometimes. Advancement opportunities are lacking, as there are only two positions you can have. Pay is kind of low as well, but for a first job, and tips included, it isn't so bad.

    Pros

    Very flexible hours
Few workers so very tight family

    Cons

None really anything negative to say

    Advice to Management

Be more involved with all employees

I have been working at Marble Slab (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great for 16 year olds who have never worked before
    - Flexible hours, easy to work with school
    - Not a whole lot of prior experience required
    - Tips
    - There is some downtime

    Cons

    - Low hourly pay
    - Late hours (at my particular location, this is a franchise)
