    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Marbles the brain store full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Marbles, at the store level, attracted some of the most passionate talent I've had the pleasure to be a part of.

    Cons

The company was run heavily top-down, with HQ making all decisions despite being woefully out of touch with what it's like in the field.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Marbles the brain store full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Started off great. Company appeared to care when the CEO was still running the show. (Unfortunately the company has since changed hands.) Cool products, innovative products produced by the company, learning experience. Fun coworkers.

    Cons

Company changed hands, the "investors" are only after the all mighty dollar. 2 years ago, it really was about building better brains. When I started, the management and HQ staff were passionate, the longer I was there, that passion turned into anxiety and stress. My District Manager, who wasn't perfect but was well-loved, was mysteriously fired and replaced with a callous person who eventually became the reason I left....

    Advice to Management

Be straight forward and honest to your teams. Don't blame store managers for lacking when the DM and the home office is often the problem. Fix the customer service and IT work hours. If you're going to lie to someone and pretend to give them a chance... don't... just fire them as you planned to do in the first place. Lower your prices to be more competitive. Listen to your in-store teams... especially when it is...

I worked at Marbles the brain store for more than a year

    Pros

They produce and distribute interesting products.

    Cons

HQ does not care about treating the staff with respect. Top management cares about growth and their public image but not about the brain coaches. My brain coaches cared more about the company then the company cared about the coaches.

    Advice to Management

Hire an HR manager. Learn to value your sales people.
