I have been working at March of Dimes full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Wonderful work life balance and flexibility for a working mom. Good professional development opportunities. I personally have had a wonderful manager who has mentored me throughout my career to help be grow professionally.

    Cons

Recently went through a foundation-wide reorganization, which took a lot of time and resources. It really affected staff morale as a result of the state of transition.

I have been working at March of Dimes full-time

    Pros

Extremely flexible job that works with your life. Very busy too. I cannot stand being bored so this job is perfect for me. The mission and the people are great to work with!

    Cons

Extremely worried about the stability of my job. Management over projected how much money we would receive last year.

    Advice to Management

Find ways to save money that do not involve cutting necessary jobs. I could easily do my job from a home office & that would save on office rent.

I worked at March of Dimes full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility in schedule. Can work from home and/or coffee shop. Upper local management is decent. Lots of events going on throughout the year. Great Atlanta office location.

    Cons

National level does not push out achievable sales. Very frustrating for management. Lots of turnover. Fundraising database is extremely out of date.

    Advice to Management

Phase out projections. Only input money once. Should not account for money that we do not have. Extremely annoying to input multiple times.

I worked at March of Dimes as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

There was never any open conflict in the building, people seemed genuine and warm to new comers.

    Cons

There were cliques of employees whom had tenure with this employer, making it hard to rise unless you can fit a group.

    Advice to Management

Be upfront especially if you've heard an employee or contractor express interest in moving upward or lengthening employment contracts.

    Pros

Great networking opportunities. Provides exposure to many different areas of a non-profit organization.
