I have been working at March of Dimes full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

New leadership, including CEO, marketing, fundraising and programs, are putting this wonderful cause back on a positive track. Current transformation to a digitally-savvy, 21st century work force including flexible work hours/locations, modern technology infrastructure, and a laser like focus on helping moms and kids. A leading voice at the national level on ensuring the moms and kids are protected in the current health care debate.

    Cons

Some employees have long tenure and need help seeing how bright the future is.

    Advice to Management

    Continue the ambitious turn around!

I worked at March of Dimes as an intern

    Pros

I interned at March of Dimes in Gainesville Florida for a school project. The team was very friendly and I was given a lot of responsibility at such a young age. Knowing that my work impacted people in need in a positive way was worth it.

    Cons

There were long hours for the events, but overall that is the only thing I can come up with. There was not anything I did not really enjoy

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and save some babies! So thankful for that opportunity to help out people in need. Another thing I loved was how I got experience in several different events, which I enjoyed

    Pros

Revision of organization structure has improved efficiency; the value of the mission is now much-better supported by the staffing structure. Well-worth the work!

    Cons

The revision has attempted to address the cons for overall organizational improvement.

    Advice to Management

Continue to provide clear, granular strategies for realizing the organization's mission.

    Pros

March of dimes was a great place to work when I was there. I learned a lot about the non profit world and really liked my manager and coworkers.

    Cons

As a recruiter, it was sometimes hard to get people to work for us as our salaries were not competitive with the other non profits for the experienced level associates.

    Advice to Management

I know that some changes have been made and I hope that one has been a reassessment of salary for experienced hires.

I worked at March of Dimes full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Loved my boss, great teammates, flexibility, good vacation and holidays, good pay for market, you'll get to meet some incredible mission families, great event management and board development experience. Rewarding. I loved this job - only left to fulfill a personal goal on my bucket list.

    Cons

I understand things are changing administratively across the country, so the face of the field offices are changing. My only "con" would be increased goals with same or less resources. I wish there would have been a model to reward high performing divisions with increased staff which not only motivates a team but keeps the momentum going. Also never went to annual summer meeting because our financial resources were kept tightly in check. Wish national would have bonused top performers with this trip outside of state chapter budget.

    Advice to Management

See cons - spells it out.
