I have been working at Maricopa Community Colleges full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Access to professional growth funds after 6 months, paid time off, leadership training

    Cons

Keeping administrators around that know little about the areas that they manage because "they're close to retiring", being bullied by my supervisor for over a year

I have been working at Maricopa Community Colleges full-time

    Pros

Extra paid time off. For example, a week off for winter break and two extra days off for spring break.

    Cons

    Workload too much for pay.

I have been working at Maricopa Community Colleges full-time

    Pros

You have great benefits and paid time off! They really believe in treating employees with respect!

    Cons

From applied to start time will be months. I don't know anyone here who waited less than 5 weeks to start. (Who is also full time). Part time employees get no benefits, and 20 hours a week. Hard to make ends meet with that. Great if you in college I guess.

I worked at Maricopa Community Colleges full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great hours, colleges have bank holidays off, paid time off, sick time, great benefits

    Cons

Too often management is comprised of people who are mediocre in their field, lack of any real mentorship opportunities, understaffed, and some colleges have a culture of fear where employees will not address concerns

I have been working at Maricopa Community Colleges full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Maricopa Community Colleges have a large network of colleges and skill centers, so there is variety and ability to move around. The benefits are good, paid time off, professional development, state retirement among others

    Cons

The organization as a whole is top heavy and also bows to faculty desires which isn't always best for business. It is a large organization so you need to learn the politics and procedures to initiate change. Also, each campus has a totally different working structure based upon the college president's personality, that isn't good for a cohesive system there are too many variables.

I have been working at Maricopa Community Colleges full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good benefits, compensation, paid time off, and an evolving Employee Wellness program. Plenty of opportunities for advancement as I have moved up from an Intern, to part-time, to an admin, and now at the management level.

    Cons

Old school mentality with a large amount of baby boomers in the workforce.
