    Pros

the pay, the people and tight scrubs...

    Cons

the over abundance of work with no help...

    Advice to Management

hah, management...most like grandfathered grunts, only reason they have management is because cost centers changed and people moved up. my 8yo son can do their job with minimal error, if punctuation is key consider them special needs.

"Good for consultants, not for employees"

    Pros

Very good place if you're a consultant on hourly rates. There is a huge need for competent people so even short contracts are usually extended which is good until they'll run out of money.

    Cons

If you're an exempt employee you might be in troubles with market lagging salaries, no bonus and no raises until turnover shoots through the roof.

They rate on a curve which is used against employees especially in IT to keep wages low and avoid promoting internally. High performers get rated at the middle so there's no incentive to work harder than anyone else and if you do you'll get more and more work which has been another reason for the high turnover in IT and other areas. If you can do and never complain they work you into the ground.
As a result there has been a high turnover of very skilled and experienced people who easily found jobs elsewhere. This has led to a huge skills gap which can only be filled by bringing in more consultants.
Bottom line, if you're used to a fair workplace with rewards for higher productivity and hard work this is definitely not the place to be, particularly if you're thinking about IT.

Technology and infrastructure are really poor, between 10 to 20 or more years old, but they still expect you to deliver as if you were using the most cutting edge tools.

There are usually between 3 to 5 large consulting engagements to do most of the work executives are paid for, each of them with conflicting interests which makes it hard to understand the direction of the organization.

    Advice to Management

Don't waste also all the bond money.

I worked at Maricopa Integrated Health System full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Working 3-12 hour days a week, My co-workers were nice and enjoyed working with them but at first it was kinda hard to fit in, pretty clicky, but I did actually LOVE MY JOB, but left because of manager. Benefits are AWESOME, Retirement and health ins, etc........

    Cons

Management changed I thought our 1st manager was bad well the 2nd and current one is sooo HORRIBLE SHE IS CHASING EVERYONE OFF EVEN PEOPLE THAT HAD BEEN WORKING THERE IN THE SAME DEPT FOR YEARS THEY LEFT AND SHE LOVES EVERY MINUTE OF IT, SHES MEAN, SHE LAUGHS AT YOU WHEN SHE IS MAKING YOU TEAR UP OR CRY SHE THINKS ITS FUNNY, SHE ENJOYED THE JOB TITLE SHE HAS AND THE POWER SHE HAS OVER EVERYONE, SHE DOESN'T WANT TO TREAT PEOPLE FAIRLY OR WORK WITH HER EMPLOYEES, WORST SITUATION I HAVE EVER BEEN IN.

    Advice to Management

Start looking at these managers your hiring they are horrible to work for, hire managers that give everyone an incentive to come to work because of respect for each other and work with their employees as a team and I bet you would get much more return from your employees and your hospital over all. After all isn't that why we are all working in a hospital because we care about people and want to help them, not ridicule them and treat them so badly?
