    "Accessories/Jewelry Intern"

    StarStarStarStarStar
      Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

      I worked at Marie-Claire

      Pros

You'll get to work for really friendly editors who work extremely hard and have had years of industry experience. Be aware of upcoming cover models, spreads within an issue, and learn behind-the-scenes of magazine.

      Cons

Very long hours, often 9am-9pm at least! Often times until 10 or 11 pm during Fashion Week and on nights when trunks go out for photoshoots, especially when packing for international shoots. Get used to running multiple errands a day and not eating lunch until 4 pm.

      Advice to Management

Continue to allow interns to help with cover shoots!

I have been working at Marie-Claire for less than a year

      Pros

Great Internship. Learned a lot about publishing and the industry. Met some of the most creative people in the industry. If you impress the right people, they will help you find jobs.

      Cons

Not always a lot to do. Very VERY few job offered with in the magazine, or even the industry. Very few opportunities for an intern to show or express their true skill and talents.

        I worked at Marie-Claire

        Pros

great building and cafeteria, near almost every subway for transportation! Work with lots of other interns and make great connections

        Cons

you never know when you are getting out at night, difficult to make evening plans, but they are usually flexible.

        Advice to Management

Let (unpaid) interns leave if there is nothing to do

        I worked at Marie-Claire

        Pros

The cafeteria is pretty awesome. Sometimes you get to go to runway shows if you are working during fashion week.

        Cons

Sometimes you have to go on too many runs.

        Advice to Management

Fix the chairs and have more computers so people can actually do their work.

I have been working at Marie-Claire full-time for less than a year

        Pros

        Advice to Management

          Doesn't Recommend

I worked at Marie-Claire part-time for less than a year

          Pros

          - Rabais sur les vêtements.

          Cons

          Advice to Management
