    Pros

The company is getting ready to acquire a smaller finance company which will make it the 2nd largest finance company in the country.

    Cons

company isn't like it use to be. The 'personal touch' to its employees has been replaced with profit and growth.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

The company has a lot of growth potential, giving employees a lot of opportunities to grow, take on a lot of responsibility, explore new ideas and participate in big projects. Awesome HR department! They are always available to employees, pleasant, intelligent, hardworking, and always go above and beyond.

    Cons

Executive team lacks diversity which holds them back from being as successful as possible - they are too close minded for the amount of potential the company has. Very outdated pay rates for current roles...low paying compared to competitors. Not many perks for employees and the organization lacks employee engagement although HR has made strides in engaging employees. Employees are unmotivated and it shows, which makes it a difficult work environment to be in day in and day out. Company culture is pretty bland, especially if you are working in the field.

    Advice to Management

Get with the times! Focus more on employee satisfaction and happiness. You need to take more time to focus on employees thoughts and suggestions in order to make them happy and loyal to the organization..that'll also help with the large amount of turnover that occurs. Things like salary, benefits, work/life balance, and engagement are all important to employees...if you want them to be hardworking and dedicated to you, you need to be dedicated to them.

    Pros

this is the most poorly managed retail lending company out there.

    Cons

Mariner Finance is a joke. They are financed by a large equity fund in MD and all they really want is to put $$ on the street - the compliance with state laws and policies they create are just for show.

    Advice to Management

Sell to wells fargo, which is the bank whose stamp all contracts are endorsed to anyway.

    Pros

Professional, laid back productive environment. Tons of hot leads. 90% of leads come from Mariner's customers. Commission is amazing and attainable.

    Cons

Doesn't have intense training for Customer Service Associates, but there's a lot of help from team members to answer questions and concerns. Base pay could be more.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Mariner Finance (Less than a year)

    Pros

I work in HQ, the attitude is more laid back then the branches. There are engagement activities like food trucks and other fun breaks. I work as part of a team and everyone is encouraged to speak their mind. All opinions are valued. I feel challenged and valued. I feel like I'm being fairly compensated and the benefits are great.

    Cons

The company is currently growing rapidly and past of several pilot programs. Sometimes it makes me worry these pilot programs aren't going to work and people may be let go, I feel a bit uncertain in my role. Also, we're being asked to do a lot of things that were not part of our job description going in because so many things are up in the air.

    Pros

I have only worked for this company for about a a month, but so far so good. The employee's I work with are very helpful and work VERY well as a TEAM! The Branch Manager is also very hands on and works just as hard. This company pays very well and chances to make bonuses are very good as well.

    Cons

The only con so far is that when your branch does NOT meet collection goals you are forced to work on Saturday. I wouldn't mind working on a Saturday IF the entire four hours were OVERTIME. They adjust your schedule so that you only receive two hours of overtime. ( IE. You will leave early or take a longer lunch to comp time)

    Advice to Management

Would love to make the full four hours of time and a half!
