I have been working at Mark Andy full-time

    Pros

Company has a great team of personnel, great products, strong passion for customers, and strong corporate culture

    Cons

Structure of company causes competition between business units.

    Advice to Management

Individuals should report to a single structure and entire management teams should be aligned. Current matrix structure is leading to office politics as different leaders in company are pursing different agendas.

I have been working at Mark Andy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great company with a rich history. At this time there are a number of flexo legends at Mark Andy. Treated with respect in what you can do for the company and not how old/young you might be.

    Cons

Have very few, no none. Good Company full of good people.

    Advice to Management

Keep the good things in place.

I have been working at Mark Andy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for - pay is good and fair, since it's s a base plus commission. They'll make you work hard for your $$, but the potential is fantastic for a hard worker willing to dial the phone! The benefit are great especially the 401K match and the medical insurance. Great company to work for if you're in Saint Louis MO.

    Cons

Mark Andy is great but their consumables division has some some managerial issue which the company doesn't seen to know how to rectify. Would not recommend print products to anyone, not that department.

    Advice to Management

Management should listen to the employees when things aren't going right, not just the managers.

    Pros

As an intern in the IT field, it was a great way to get some general experience working the Help Desk and help provide support for a variety of support roles including software, hardware, and phone support. A supportive and friendly staff.

    Cons

None, it was a great experience and help build my confidence. We were very busy. Lastly, not a reflection of the company, but a long commute for me.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work.

I have been working at Mark Andy (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Global, far reaching. Good people really want to do the best for their company.

    Cons

Management is decentralized and the company presently lacks necessary direction and communication to maintain a solid footing. Lack of ability to seek input from seasoned employees show ignorance to what made the company successful for so many years.

    Advice to Management

Get involved, listen to long term employees. They have been successful before the new owners showed up! The company and its employees are more powerful as an aligned group, not internal competitors and silos.

I worked at Mark Andy (More than a year)

    Pros

Company gives you the freedom of booking your own travel. Pay is average and in field service you dont have to live in St Louis to work for them.

    Cons

Ontime payment of out of pocket expenses os a joke. Expectaitions are ridiculous when they don't give you proper training/tools to do your job, much less even know what training or tools are needed. Company would rather look good and fail than be efficicient and trust the experts in their respective fields.

    Advice to Management

Senior management- Hire qualified supervisors, not your neighbors or church buddies. Just because somebody can schedule breaks and lunches or has a degree in hamburgerology, doesn't mean they know the first thing about what it takes to travel, install, repair, upgrade, fabricate, live out of a suitcase, deal with flight delays, lost luggage, unpaid company credit card due to flat out refusal of timely reimbursements etc. Creating a hostile work environment by fabricating or extremely exaggerating facts just to look better to the boss will never be good for the company
Middle management- thouroughly understand the responsibilities of the people who work under you. Spend less time manipulating situations to make you look good, and more time trying to understand the process of what you put your technicians through.
Accounting- stop with the creative math and make detailed expense report information available while making reimbursements on time, instead of letting weeks of reports pile up then paying 2 or 3 on one check without explaining what expenses you didnt cover, hence coming out of the pocket of the employee.

    Pros

Team oriented work environment. Customer focused approach. I experienced a supportive management team. With manufacturing and production on site seeing your end product is very rewarding. I liked the excitement of working on the variety of projects I was exposed to while working for Mark Andy supporting the Comco product line.

    Cons

Not an extremely large organization. Once you become good at one function it becomes natural for an individual to stay in that capacity.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great job of running a capital equipment business in these challenging economic times. There are difficult decisions that need to be made to survive and prosper.
