I have been working at Mark of Excellence Pizza full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It can be a fun environment to work in and you can work as many hours as you want.

    Cons

The company doesn't pay Managers and Insiders enough. They would rather pay drivers at certain stores $10/hr while shift runners are only making $8.50/hr.
Can never rely on the AC to work in the store, so often working in 85+ degrees.
Customers can be very rude, yelling and cussing at you just for following company policies.
General Managers are overworked for a wimpy salary.
Stores are constantly understaffed because turnover is very high.
They don't really care about anything beside money.
    MOE- Money Over Everything

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more, and maybe turnover won't be so high.

    Pros

Quick easy money for delivery drivers.
    Fun co-workers
Good managers considering the tools they are given to survive.

    Cons

Corporate seems as they could careless for anyone that works in the stores. They do not mentor and coach GM's or others in a leadership role. No holiday pay, have to pay for jackets at a ridiculous price. Employees should not have to pay for equipment needed to do their job. Sometimes higher level managers visit but they never introduce themselves and/or show an interest in the people working for them. Very in personable and not effective management skills.

    Advice to Management

Show you care, this does not just mean in raises. Help out with Jackets, hats, etc.... Provide GM and others at the store with training and mentoring invest time in your employees. Offer holiday pay for more than just the fat cats. Offer 8 hours holiday pay for full time workers and 4 for part time employees. Look beyond the low hanging fruit and retain your good employees. Your employees will care more if you care more. Get to know your employees come in shake hands and thank them for their hard work.

I worked at Mark of Excellence Pizza full-time

    Pros

Nothing positive to say about this dirty place

    Cons

Manager is a perv who drinks on the job. When I brought it up to hr they fired me. Also refuses to pay final paycheck.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the bad apples. And stop punishing employees who use your open door policy. Fyi my lawyer will be contacting you guys. They enjoyed the video evidence I took.

  4. "Mostly comfortable working environment"

    Pros

Although the customers were tough, the managers at my franchise store were reasonable and helpful, familiar with all sorts of troubles that can pop up on the job. The workers all know that everyone is in the same boat and the store manager made sure that jobs were delegated properly to run as efficiently as possible. It helped that my manager actually worked as a part of the makeline.

    Cons

Customers were sometimes unreasonable and unfortunately we have to make sure they are satisfied. The makeline while I was working there, while it was still within proper temperature ranges, still ran warmer than my store manager liked. It took more than 4 months before it was finally upgraded. The worst items to make to stay under the baseline order time are the sandwiches and it's unreasonable to make more three of them in under 2-3 minutes. Bring back Parmesan and crushed red peppers because customers still ask for them.

    Advice to Management

Ensure that all franchise stores have proper equipment inspections. It took way too long to replace the makeline. Although Mark of Excellence Pizza is not responsible for the menu items, by adding more items, it can delay additional orders down the line.

I worked at Mark of Excellence Pizza part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    They compensated total miles driven
They have a relatively flexible schedule
They have fun people to work with occasionally.
Being on the road was stress free.

    Cons

The wear and tear on your car, is not worth it.
If they're understaffed the call you all the time to come in.

    Advice to Management

Definitely hire more inside people. The numbers game definitely makes working there awful. Drivers should be compensated more, however unlikely. The wear and tear on the driver's car is not worth the job.
