Market America has excellent insurance benefits, many paid holidays and are very generous with paid time off. It never gets boring as the company is always evolving and there is room for advancement if you work hard. I've learned so much about marketing, training and being a support to the field.
Cons
It can get hectic at times. The company has two major corporate events each year, deadlines can be stressful, you have to really put your nose to the grindstone. But once the "hubbub" is over, they always tell us how much they appreciate our hard work and continued dedication to the company's success.

Plenty of parking and good coworkers feeling stuck like I did.
Cons
Getting sucked in to a false sense of security. You get lured in thinking, wow - this is going to be the place I retire from. Then, without notice, this hideous, most awful family of vipers begin to hiss - and they actually stand there in human form. This is YOUR management team, top "leadership". These are a group of uneducated, mean people who will cuss you out at the drop of a hat. The new "top dog" since the founder died last year...man, you better ALL watch out for that one. She will be the eventual downfall of that company. Beware, and remember; IF you go to work there (you shouldn't), you will be back here writing a negative review and ruing the day you were convinced by someone at the top that you should write a positive one to help offset the negative ones.

The pay/ benefits and co-workers (THAT IS ALL)

Wow like where do I even begin with the cons of this company? If you love being constantly talked down on with verbal abuse, mistreated and also having no leadership/training then Market America is the perfect company for you! The events they make you attend are a complete nightmare - the Co-Owner is honestly horrible. I have never seen someone mistreat so many people before and threaten so many jobs because she could not make her own mind up of what she wanted.... I was SHOCKED to say the least. You will have management not stand up for you only because the higher ups are all a family and are scared of each other. The job/company as a whole sounds amazing with incredible pay and benefits but please be aware that once you are in the company a couple of months you will see the very very VERY bad side of this company and they do not care about you at all which is very unfortunate.

Pros
Market America is a great place to work. I can say this without any hesitation. I have been at Market America for 13 plus years and I must say if you are passionate about what you do as I am, and you love what you do as I do, then working at Market America can be very satisfying. Market America has given me an opportunity to grow and contribute. We work together as a team. At Market America, we try to help each other as much as possible. However, It is up to the individual as well to try to work hard and be successful. If you are someone who strives for success, is dedicated and committed, is responsible and works hard then this is the best place. On the contrary, if you just want to come and go and do not even try to learn or make a difference then there is no good place for you, let alone Market America. I cannot imagine any company being happy with non-contributors or people who are not committed. Long story short, Market America is a great place to work. There are multiple opportunities that can come your way but you should have the passion, desire and willingness to dive in. It is an excellent place to work at and grow!

The previous review about negative reviews disappearing is right. What happened to the review that detailed the IT remote work betrayal? It was spot on. The IT department was told they would not be returning to the office a couple years ago and after more than 2 years told they had to come back with no explanation. At the very least we were due an explanation and apology after being lied to. A lot can change in your life in 2 or 3 years that can't just be undone on a whim. With everything we put up with, we deserved better.

The Worst company I have worked for

They offer high salaries to incoming workers.
Cons
When looking for another job (and you will) you will not find those high salaries. They treat the company like a sweat shop and even when your remote the boss spies on you. They kind of expect you to work 24 by 7 with the only thanks is an extra day at the end of the year.

You are paid weekly… every Friday
Cons
No opportunities for advancement unless management favors you. Your current manager has to “approve” you going to another position within the company. Low pay.. lucky if you get a 50 cent raise… Micromanaging, no work life balance, nepotism. PTO is horrible. Owners of company will literally call you directly and cuss you out. If you’re good at your job, be ready to do 3 other individuals job to “help” them out (permanently) with no increased pay or even any acknowledgment. I watched a whole team literally leave out the door/ retire due to increased hours and management’s inability to care since we were “working from home” due to Covid. I could go on for days… unless you NEED a job, go elsewhere.

The benefits are average. There is a nurse on site which is nice.
Cons
This was by far the most toxic work environment I've ever worked in. In fact, I want to know why all the other low rated reviews were removed from their Glassdoor profile. The executive team - aside from a select few - are absolutely atrocious to work with. If you work on the events team or social media team, expect to be screamed at by higher ups at some point. Event time is the worst of the worst, expect consistent 12-16hr days and being on call 24/7 during that time.

(1) Salary with annual raises (based on performance) (2) "Family comes first" is really a thing at this company. (3) New ideas are always welcome. (4) Owners care about employees.
Cons
(1) Depending on your role, you can end up working on weekends but for major events, the company gives you PTO days to make up for the weekend time. (2) Priority projects can come up at any time with tight - sometimes same day - deadlines. (3) Stressful at times.
