I have been working at Market Track full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great managers who take the time to listen to you
    - Intelligent co-workers
    - Transparent management, there are frequent check-ins and they are clear on what their expectations are of you
    - Adequate training
    - Work load can be heavy or light depending on how dependable you are. There's always something to be done and I've never really had any "slow" days
    - Compatible with being a part-time student - there are many people earning a second degree here and the company is extremely patient with them in terms of scheduling and working from home. this company seems to want its employee to constantly improve themselves
    - Emphasis on efficiency and improving processes. I've worked a many companies that do not value this as much as MT and it's very frustrating to feel like you aren't in control of what you're working with. The development team is very cooperative with people on making feature request or taking recommendations on making our software better.
    - Location at the Willis Tower is extremely convenient for Metra and El riders

    Cons

    - Okay work/life balance. Depending on how reliable you are, you may have dozens of people asking you little to big questions throughout the day. It's hard to simply leave work at work.

    Advice to Management

Focus on growing your existing employees and integrating new software.

The Marketing team has it together.

    Cons

Lack of structure and organization across the company. Way too much micromanagement and unprofessionalism with no clear plan to improve. Very poor work culture.

I worked at Market Track full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, great location, new and emerging technology, benefits

    Cons

Still maintains a "start-up" mentality, not a good environment for a first time job as no direction or mentorship offered, you either sink or swim with little guidance.

I have been working at Market Track full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The employees are very close-knit employees. Pretty good benefits including 401k and a lot of vacation time. I would also say its a well respected product, which makes it easy to sell so long as you know how to focus on the right buying centers. The company is owned by a private equity firm and has been on a buying spree. There office is the nicest I've worked at yet in the Willis Tower and everyone has a lot of space to work. Lots of REAL opportunity for commission, even on renewals.

    Cons

Just like everyone else says, the hours are long. Expect weekly 7 and 8 o'clock meetings, especially if you have east coast territory. The travel can be a little hard too depending on your position. There's a lot of "sink or swim" mentality from the managers, but sometimes that can be a good thing too.

I have been working at Market Track full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are lots of very intelligent people solving very hard problems. Some of the skills I've learned on this job are years ahead of other jobs I've been at.

    Cons

The management can be very demanding. I've had to work a couple weekends this year, though to be fair the company let me take some extra vacation days a few months later.

I have been working at Market Track full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company has very high commission structure with a reputable name in the industry. The products are very easy to sell (market research data). There are a lot of knowledgeable people around all the time.

    Cons

The management is very demanding, and the products are very complex. I spent a lot of time learning what our product base really is, and if I had one complaint it was that there is not enough training on all the various components.

    Advice to Management

Improve training structure on the products so that its not as much of a trial by fire all the time.

    Pros

Exciting environment, market leader, growth oriented, blue chip client base

    Cons

Speed sometimes comes at a cost to quality. Organization can be disjointed at times. The industry is prone to quality issues due to the nature of the work and the syndicated solution offering.

    Advice to Management

Speed without regard to quality makes for less than optimal results with clients who expect both. Do right by the clients.
