I have been working at MarketStar full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Great benefits, 401K Stock,

    Cons

Lots of accounts lost over the past two years. High turnover. Questionable future

    Advice to Management

Get back to the basics of what made Marketstar tops in the industry. Price services more competitively.

I have been working at MarketStar full-time

    Pros

Flexible schedule and good atmosphere. A lot of fun people that you work with and some good company perks as well.

    Cons

The training is useless and they don't give you any direction to go on. Expectations are changing constantly and they don't give it to you straight on how the job is immediately. The atmosphere is good but there is no guarantee of a job in the future.

    Advice to Management

Need to greatly improve the training program and how it is implemented.

I have been working at MarketStar full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Enthusiastic expectations, culture based on 5 core values (which, from what I've seen, are upheld), employee focus is appropriate and development opportunities are sought and given, feedback is welcome AND acted upon - for example the enactment of an education award that reimburses tuition or certification costs. Client relations (for mine) well exceed expectations and the standard. Great networking ability and experience. Constant company growth is a norm.

    Cons

Team dynamics and culture vary by manager and team, not all are created equal. Extremely little room to grow within the company (however, the abstract upside is how common it is for tenured employees to be hired directly by clients). Training/onboarding for new employees, though supposedly improving, is considerably below standard (since there isn't one).

    Advice to Management

Focus and invest more heavily in standardized training, especially for management. Conduct ongoing audits on managers' behaviors and behavior patterns to make sure they are get results and upholding the 5 pillars of Marketstar (not all do).

I have been working at MarketStar full-time

    Pros

Autonomy and freedom to work your strengths. Great perks and company benefits - often get free lunch and movies. Cheap Frontrunner commuter rail pass, free soda machine, company paid parties and events, fun internal promotions motivate you to work hard and earn extra money. The best benefit is awesome people - managers and coworkers! It is a delight to go to work and there is always something new to learn and lots of upward growth opportunities

    Cons

You will probably grow out of their ability to compensate - the wages are somewhat capped and below industry standards.

    Advice to Management

Police bad manager behavior better and standardize expectations. Inconsistent and vastly divergent management styles exist from team to team.

    Pros

    Decent pay
    Flexible hours
    Pto
    401k
    Average benefits

    Cons

    Sometimes slow
    Standing all day
Commission is slow and confusing pay out structure
Not a very large market for sales

    Advice to Management

Allow employees to setup a station in store doing business on a tablet with no delegated space is very unprofessional looking. Change to a higher hourly rate but take away commission the market isn't as large as you claim it to be.
