I have been working at Marketing Werks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

This is an awesome agency that has been gone through a tough transition after being acquired by Crossmark. The good news is that the worst seem to be behind us and we already see improved communication, higher level strategic thinking and opportunity for growth. There are bumps in the road as with any agency but this is a close knit group that cares about one another, works hard and plays harder.

    Cons

its a tough business and sometimes work life balance is hard to achieve.

I have been working at Marketing Werks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Marketing Werks is well known for hiring full time individuals from contract positions. It is a great way to test who is hard working. MW has also had a pretty substantial amount of growth as a company so the chances of advancement are great. The client service side handles a brunt of the work so you have the opportunity to gain a ton of experience. It is an independently owned company and has a family feel. I personally have been well looked after and am appreciative of my experience.

    Cons

Just like any agency that specializes in events and experiential, you will work a lot of hours. Because the company doesn't have specialized individuals, you will be tested to find solutions to issues and sometimes budget projections for some line items aren't realistic and you are forced to scramble. Salaries are generally pretty low and because it is an independently owned agency, there are a ton of "politics".

    Advice to Management

The atmosphere at MW is fun and exciting but you should think seriously about flex hours to fit the nature of the business and help keep employees. Also look to hire specialized individuals vs road crew with limited professional work experience
