I worked at Markit full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Excellent client base and place to get experience. Opportunities to grow career for those who are willing to work hard and prove their ability.

    Cons

Growth comes with a lot of acquisitions so it gets harder to understand the strategy of the firm sometimes. The company is quite top heavy as well so communication through the organization can be diluted.

    Advice to Management

Try to keep to the roots of being entrepreneurial and empowering employees by giving them authority and autonomy. Cut the fat at all levels including senior levels and invest more in people and building good technology.

    Pros

there's a relaxed atmosphere with very nice people. Solid amount of diversity and some senior folks are strong advocates for diversity and inclusion

    Cons

The firm doesn't push the envelope as much as it could. Betting capital and time against new technology, innovation, etc...is not terribly common.
