I have been working at Marley Spoon full-time

    Pros

There will never be a dull moment or lack of interesting projects (they are abundant!). The philosophy of transparency that lives here is rarely seen at many companies. You are encouraged to dare, take risk, make mistakes while developing both personally and professionally. Food, Food, Food, Food! Having the opportunity to taste most of the recipes weeks before they are released to the public is one of the largest... perks amongst many others.

    Cons

There are definitely growing pains, and signs of moving faster then we should at some corners.

    Advice to Management

Full steam ahead and to never lose touch of what culture has done for and will continue to do for the company.

I have been working at Marley Spoon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very exciting to be a part of this startup. Vision of the founders is to grow at a controlled pace so we don't forget why we are in business. Strong focus on sustainability when rolling any new programs or products

    Cons

Change is often if you are not a fan of it. Be ready to be set up for one successful plan only to have to change it at the last minute. If you're good with that kind of craziness, you will be in your comfort zone

    Advice to Management

Invest in the right things or people instead of the glamorous.

I have been working at Marley Spoon full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I see progress in the near future

    Cons

Communication is so complicated that most people choose not to bother communicating some important issues between departments, even within departments in many cases. Ways to communicate could be simpler. Having emails and ten plus threads going all at once is just a distraction from work.

I have been working at Marley Spoon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great team members that are motivated and passionate. Majority of the company is really driven to build the best team and develop the best product. Team building events really resonate the love among the co-workers here. A lot of fun new problems to solve in a start-up culture. Free food and great benefits.

    Cons

Frustrations are "heard" but not solved. Personally I've complained of a major concern for several months now and nothing has been done about it. Power is given into sloppy hands and poor managing skills. With a weekly negative outcome coming from one department, the power/autonomy for some reason still lies within the function that constantly makes errors and is very unorganized. Complaints of salary are not taken... seriously. The amount of work and hours put into projects significantly outweigh the pay.

    Advice to Management

Please take the frustrations of your employees seriously. Employees that are loyal, trustworthy, passionate about the company and are willing to work around the clock with accuracy and attention to detail are hard to find. Hard to find employees should be valued and heard properly.

I have been working at Marley Spoon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

This is a GREAT opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a start-up company! I learn something new every day and I get to take part in creating the SOP's for so many functions!

    Cons

Long hours sometimes, communication is not so great.

    Pros

Extremely talented New York team, possibility for growth, and a collaborative work environment. A particularly wonderful culinary team.

    Cons

Low salaries; disconnect between the HQ in Berlin and the New York office; a sometimes difficult work environment with the management team in Berlin. You can feel Marley Spoon's growing pains as a young startup.

I have been working at Marley Spoon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Start up environment where you will get more responsibility than a bigger company - including ability to develop and change programs/processes rather than "button push" Good exposure to upper management - if you perform impactful work they will notice Open working environment where even senior management shares their "wins" and fails" - creates

    Cons

This is a small company so you don't get all the bells and whistles to do your job - there are not all the systems a larger organization may have Interdepartmental communication needs improvement - getting better but still a long way to go

I worked at Marley Spoon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible schedules Can work from home on occasions Weekly pay

    Cons

$12, no raises or bonuses. Managers do not manage employees. Employees on the same level attempt to manage others. Insurance is not affordable, little to no PTO, no sick time. Extremely unprofessional work environment. No parking spaces on site, parking lot is down the street on the busy road. You will have to walk! Poor quality product e.t.c RUN. FAR. from this place!

    Advice to Management

Pay/ treat employee's right and they will stay. Put qualified people in charge, not just who you like.
