I have been working at Marlin Business Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management is empowering people to get things done without a lot of overhead. Guidance is given and helpful. Good health benefits.

    Cons

There are some that are bitter and have poor social skills, but they get called out by management pretty quickly. Corporation could promote education (No tuition reimbursement available) 401K matching is meager. a Little top heavy in some departments.

    Advice to Management

Continue being approachable and open to listening.

    Pros

Good training and tools, and they are well established and have ridden the ups and downs in the marketplace of commercial finance.

    Cons

They told me I had a 2 year ramp-up time but in reality they only gave me 6 months. It takes a lot more than you think to be successful there.

    Advice to Management

Keep your word and don't churn through employees.

I worked at Marlin Business Services (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It started out as a job. Turned into a career but unfortunately became just another job.

    Cons

Call Center environment. Management concerned about shareholders first and foremost. Then maybe their Vendors. Then maybe their end user/customers and then, lastly, their employees. It's a shame as it could have been and still quite possibly can be a very decent place to work but not until management realizes that their most important asset should be their employees first and foremost.

    Advice to Management

    Stop the madness!
