I worked at Maronda Homes full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with. Allow you to do your job without interruption.

    Cons

Some silly policies are still in force despite being outdated for decades. "That's just how we have always done it."

    Advice to Management

    Continue your improvements

I worked at Maronda Homes full-time

    Pros

Great place to start a career in home sales. The company is family owned and the owner is a hands on type of person who listens to his staff. The employee's are a team and help each other as much as possible. The floor plans are awesome and different than other hone builders. The prices are affordable, making the homes easier to move.

    Cons

Land position is poor, and getting worse. No new community's have opened in years. The service department is growing slower every year to respond to service calls making repeat business harder to come by.

    Advice to Management

Focus on keeping customers happy to gain more referrals with so many years of service to the area you should be pulling at least 20% of sales from referrals.

I worked at Maronda Homes full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Not a lot of corporate leadership controlling decisions, which left a lot of independent thought and innovative ideas. Division management was set for growth, but the economy had a different plan

    Cons

Very cliquish atmosphere. You had to make sure that you were playing golf with the right people and become a "yes man" to leadership. Eliminating the bonus plan makes for bitter employees

    Advice to Management

Seniority means a lot in a company, especially through a down-turn. A generous bonas plan didn't need to be sustained, but your loyal, productive workers deserved something!

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Maronda Homes full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This company has no pros, only cons

    Cons

Low, or even better- NO PAY, condescending, incompetent management, non-existent marketing department and NO MARKETING BUDGET! Owner of the company is a megalomaniac and an absolute jerk! They lie, keep helpful information from employees, and treat employees and customers as second class citizens. The only game plan this company has is to line the pockets of the owner with the blood, sweat and commissions of the employees.

    Advice to Management

    Karma's gonna get you

    Pros

Good floor-plans, great price points, no over-site

    Cons

no over-site, no land positioning, antiquated CRM, no digital marketing from corporate, no marketing period!

    Advice to Management

Get with the times! Have to be able to compete with national's in your county

I have been working at Maronda Homes full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Relative autonomy selling from model homes.

    Cons

Owner of company is completely disconnected from the employees. Is insulting to employees, talks down to them, rants and raves at them, NEVER listens to any suggestion from the people who are actually doing the work. Company has poor reputation for quality. For many years company would not pay realtors commissions to sell their homes because they didn't "need" them. Will not spend $$ on advertising, expects sales people to bring in all business. Will not supply model homes with the basics like toilet paper- again up to sales people. Just an all around awful company.

    Advice to Management

Unless you can oust Mr. Wood, I would suggest everyone find a new job. There is no hope for a happy career at Maronda, only a miserable eeked out existence.
