I have been working at Marquette University part-time

    Pros

Great job for students who love the university. Can be really fun and rewarding to help high school students through the college decision process. Very fun work environment, great coworkers and the full time staff in admissions are awesome. Choose your own schedule.

    Cons

Students and families are really hit or miss. Can sometimes be very rude or obnoxious. Working weekends is required and can sometimes get in the way, but not too bad. Minimum wage seems pretty low compared to other jobs on campus.

I worked at Marquette University full-time

    Pros

The university is doing a lot to advance itself and the community surrounding. It has a mission that is admirable.

    Cons

There was not much opportunity for growth in position. Also felt that the university tended to be overly bureaucratic to the point that problems were only addressed only when there was threat for potential legal action.

    Advice to Management

Train and develop your employees beyond month one

    Advice to Management

Benefits to the full time graduate assistants will allow for more mature applicants who are no longer covered by their parent's health care.
