I have been working at Marriott International full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great values to build a company on. Benefits are good as well.

    Cons

Company is too big - meaning there are too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Departments are all running skeleton crews expecting still to have all work complete and on time and customer service to be over the top. Hard to do when you are working 2 to 3 doubles a week because your department is so short handed.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more qualified workers.

I have been working at Marriott International part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only benefit is you get cheaper room rates. (Not guaranteed ) sometimes they lets you eat scraps leftover from breakfast...

    Cons

Management is not looking out for employees interests whatsoever. They do not follow through with giving reviews on employees nor do they honor raises even after you've been granted them. They do not provide a living wage and have no interest in doing so.

    Advice to Management

You should consider doing more to make your employees able to survive in general.

I worked at Marriott International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people there are the best reason to work here. They are always looking for a reason to make a cake or cookies and have some kind of party. If you have a department meeting then they will provide some kind of food. Lunch is free but limited selection just whatever they put in the break room. After being there for a while department manager will be willing to work with you if you want to change your schedule or you need a day.

    Cons

Management is mostly concerned with the guest of the hotels, which is to be expected in the hospitality industry, however if you have a guest that complains about everything then you will a verbal counseling. People who stay there a lot figure out that if they complain about their room enough then they will get moved to a new and the maintenance people take the fall for that. They also learn that if they complain enough about anything then the hotel will give them free stuff. Management can get free tickets to sporting events and things of the like but they never go to the hourly employees, only to guest and salaried people. Pay is not the best and insurance is very expensive. If you have tattoos then you will either have a very hard time getting a job or just be told flat out no.

    Advice to Management

Hourly employees don't get paid enough for the jobs that they do.

I have been working at Marriott International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, discount on rooms. So on

    Cons

The way some properties are managed. Stay away from residence inn/ Fairfield inn Tustin.

    Advice to Management

Pay more. The pay is absurd for what we have to deal with. Hotels are sold out all the time. And maybe you'll keep your staff.

    Pros

Great group, great concept, horrible oversight in construction with no room in budget for a staff to fix what the builders screwed up. Marriott hotel is top notch, CN Hotels as tje franchisee owner...not so much ...

    Cons

No communication with mgr and staff, too much emphasis on presentation not enough on substance.

I have been working at Marriott International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They take care of their employees. They offer medical, eye, and dental insurance. As well as 401k. You also receive vacation and sick pay

    Cons

Wish things could move faster. Don't like not having a 90 day review in place. This would help and boost employees moral.

    Advice to Management

Take a look into more employees incentive programs and more then one raise a year from the start, like the 90 day review.
