I worked at Marriott International part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Never pigeon-holed into one job description. Empowerment and cross-training always encouraged! An associate can move up , sideways, at their own pace and reach the career goal that they set for themselves.

    Cons

I cannot think of one bad day I ever had!

    Advice to Management

Keep teaching the 3 stool soda shop work ethic principle! IT WORKS

I worked at Marriott International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company to work for overy all. Room for advancement if you are willing to move to a new location and hotel. They have hotels all over the world so that can be good for finding other positions to move up.

    Cons

Not a lot of training. Hours can be unpredictable at times. Dealing with employee relations can be hard at times. Seems unfair that a Spanish speaking manager is looked for more so then if you only speak english.

    Advice to Management

Provide more training and support to new managers. Understand work life balance more. Value English speakers just as much as Spanish speakers.
