    I have been working at Marriott International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    My property is at a beautiful location. The pay is decent.

    Cons

    The hours are based off of tenure and favoritism. Having a life outside of work is nearly impossible. So if you are new expect to get the worst shifts. Employees who have worked there for decades are protected by the union even though many of them should have been let go probably in the nineties. This particular property has the worst rating of all other Marriott properties in the region. When issues are brought up almost nothing is done about them, resulting in unhappy employees who come to work unhappy and thus it is relayed to the customer.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to employees, have discussions about what can be done to make the place better and respect that employees whether they are just coming into the company or have been there for years want to having a comfortable working/living lifestyle.

    Fantastic Ethics as a Company…The Culture and Values that the Marriott OVERALL professes and communicates are admirable.

    Cons

    Career Progression and Personal Development is supposed to be easier and encouraged but has proved challenging
