I have been working at Marriott Vacations Worldwide full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The benefits and incentive packages.

    Cons

Terrible software systems and inane business decisions are a constant hurdle in trying to help frequently irritated timeshare owners . A major senior management disconnect loaded with nepotism, sycophants and general lack of empathy for what the everyday associates go through.

    Advice to Management

Expend your considerable resources on making systems and policies better for employees instead of more convenient for lackadaisical and ineffective management.

I worked at Marriott Vacations Worldwide full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free drinks. Decent pay for Orlando. Breakfast every other Tuesday. Hotel discounts. First day of training was really inviting and almost did a good job at fooling me.

    Cons

Too many emotions in one place. Trainers and management ask for feedback on how training is going and then take EVERYTHING personal. The trainers get mad and go tell management. Then the director comes in to try to intimidate everyone. However, she is not intimidating in the least. They are all a bunch of phony, two faced, pretend to like you but talk nasty behind your back like we are in high school. You self teach yourself in training. Sit at a computer for 8 hours reading modules, completely an outdated workbook and taking tests. If you ask for extra help, it will be a problem and held against you. After a month of training (training is 6-8 weeks) NOBODY knew anything or felt comfortable taking calls. The back up trainers ALL talked badly about the lead trainer (Kevin) and doubted his ability to train effectively. But then they would go back and tell him things to make him believe the class felt that way. This place is a JOKE. Don't let the $13.50 excite you. Believe me, it's not worth it. I found a higher paying job and quit the Marriott Drama Club.

    Advice to Management

Be a manager and stop trying to be Bestfriends with the employees.

    Pros

    Great associate discounts
    Good health benefits
There are some amazing and caring people who work there

    Cons

some senior leaders are only in it for themselves and turn others ideas into their own
Lots of favoritism and promotions are generally received based on who you are friends with instead of performance
Less focus on customer support and more focus on sales

    Advice to Management

Try to look past your own egos and cultivate some of the amazing talent that the Marriott name attracts.

    Cons

They pay structure is awful! You're just a number to them.you can be replaced very fast. They give deals to their favorites people...Miro managed

    Advice to Management

They need to show that they care more about their employees. Stop giving all the deal to your favorite people , it demotivated other from meeting their goals.

    Pros

Great company, friendly management and nice work environment.

    Cons

Minimum wage with a fairly small potential to earn bonuses. Unrealistic goal expectations in general.

    Advice to Management

You will continue to have a very high employee turnover unless you figure out a better pay/goal ratio. This in my opinion is losing you talent and thus money.
