    Pros

    Excellent work environment. I worked with a great sales team under excellent management. Marriott promotes from within with good chance of promotion opportunities.

    Cons

    I had to leave unfortunately due to a family illness.

    I have been working at Marriott Vacations Worldwide full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Discouts at all Marriott Properties. That includes Vacation Clubs and Hotels. Pay is decent.

    Cons

    Hours, work 6 days a week, shifts change drastically (close one day and open the next). Management is all over the place. Most of management only cares about themselves and not the training or happiness of their employees.

    Advice to Management

    Care more, work more than a morning shift, don't say one thing and do the opposite. Especially with scheduling.

    Pros

    Management is properly trained to ensure associate satisfaction. There is an organized corporate structure that allows for its employees to thrive by knowing what departments are used for what functions. Internal service is strongly emphasized as much as external customer service.

    Cons

    Training could've been a bit more structured.

    Emphasis on presence and training.

    Pros

    Most of the hourly employees were nice. Room discount are pretty good. There is some room for growth. Few manager were nice other not so nice

    Cons

    Cant believe such a large company charges employees for food. I even witnessed them reselling food to employees food that was left over from banquets. Management need to loosen up can be disrespectful to employees.

    Good place to learn

    Understaffed sales force
    No longevity in sales force , revolving door
    Training was expensive but not applicable to every location
    Not much in the way of new hire orientation or assistance once formal training was over .
    Management / supervisor turnover was
     Extremely high .
     Employment was completely production-based that many Employees with other great qualities that are typically important to most large companies were overlooked .

    When a year and a half instead of a long tenure with the company said company might want to take notes and discover one

    Pros

    Great family like environment. Very flexible. Cares about their associates. All associates are recognized with the annual employee appreciation week.

    Cons

    Pay does not match performance. Supervisors put in positions because of tenure not experience. Supervisors pay attention and pick on some associates when others they don't know pay attention to them.

    Advice to Management

    Pay for performance. Check with entry level associates. Are they being treated fair and is pay matching duties.

    Honestly the only Pro to this company is the great discounts you get on hotels!

    Cons

    Where do I begin?
    When you get hired they tell you that you make vacation dreams come true, that is literally a lie! There is very little inventory for the owners to book! The owners are rude and treat you horribly, every call you get is a angry owner who just screams at you! Out of the 15 systems they have you working on they don't work half of the time, most of the time the website is down for the owners to use! Upper management does not like when you tell an owner the systems are down becasue it looks bad on them. When the Que is 200 calls in deep upper management will sit in one office and listen to calls all day and email you on what you could of done better. The scheduling department is a joke! They don't know what they are doing half of the time you have to correct them. This company will play favorites especially if you go to the same Mormon church! There is a lot of office politics when it comes to upper management most of it is back stabbing and talking badly about others. The company will change something and wait till the last minute to train you or don't train you at all.
    They had a gas leak in the building it took them two hours to evacuate the building and that was after people started getting really sick! The came around not asking us if we were OK but if a news crew came that we should not say anything about the leak and it was only a drill!
    It is very hard to grow within the company and it is not worth the pay!
    You are only a number to them not a hard working employee and they make it very clear you can be easily replaced!

    Advice to Management

    Maybe instead of caring about how good you look in your pretty little offices you should come out and converse with your hard working employees and make them feel appreciated!

    None. I would not change anything as it is a proven success since it first was founded over 50 yrs ago and continues to grow due to the outstanding culture and company values

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you have been doing and remember not to be tempted to fix what is not broken. You are doing what makes Marriott stand out from the rest and the reason for the consistent success and continued growth setting yourself apart from the competition because you take care of your employees and in return they take care of your customers with loyalty and passion for the company they work for.
