Felt like home everyday at work!

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees for ideas as they are the front lines of the business!

I worked at Marriott Vacations Worldwide full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Marriott does pride itself on good employees, management, and providing the best customer service out there - I can't speak badly for any of these items. My management team was friendly, uplifting, fun, and easy to talk to. The higher-ups who would come in from time to time were just as friendly and inviting. That's a big plus for such a large company.

    Cons

As a college graduate with a Bachelor's Degree I was hoping and expecting to be given more responsibility and/or training to move me up in my hospitality career. Marriott seems to have such strict guidelines involving promotions that it almost felt like they were keeping me from developing more skills to prepare me for future opportunities. Day in and day out the same reports and meaningless tasks were completed, and for just $10.00/hr, I could've been having more excitement behind the counter of a fast food joint.

    Advice to Management

Allow your employees to learn and strive for more
Find a way to make reports and multiple hour long checklists not so boring and redundant
Encourage more responsibility for new hires & college grads eager to get out in their field

I have been working at Marriott Vacations Worldwide full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They are great at being flexible with schedules, providing a good work-life balance, and providing a great work experience. I will benefit from the customer service skills I have gained with MVW in just about any future position.

    Cons

There can be some very challenging guests, it can get very busy during weekends, requesting time off during busy season can be challenging

    Advice to Management

Increase the amount of advancement in specific locations. As it is now, agents almost have to move properties or departments to advance, something not as many are willing to do.

    Pros

Great company, friendly management and nice work environment.

    Cons

Minimum wage with a fairly small potential to earn bonuses. Unrealistic goal expectations in general.

    Advice to Management

You will continue to have a very high employee turnover unless you figure out a better pay/goal ratio. This in my opinion is losing you talent and thus money.
