    Pros

    Excellent work environment. I worked with a great sales team under excellent management. Marriott promotes from within with good chance of promotion opportunities.

    Cons

    I had to leave unfortunately due to a family illness.

    Great company to work for, fun corporate environment, associate activities thru the year, great buildings and great people

    Cons

    In certain areas is difficult to be promoted or to get a salary raise. The Salary adjustment could be definitely better.

    Pros

    This position gives you the option of maximizing your commission based on your work ethic since it is commission based as well

    Cons

    Because it is commision based it it becomes a little hard to take vacation time without losing on the commission side for missing days.

    Advice to Management

    Coming up with better options for to comp plan to allow associates to take time off without losing full commission.

    Pros

    Worked for Marriott International and Marriott Vacations Worldwide for 25 years. Great benefits, Club 25 membership, and worked with people that treat you like family.

    Cons

    Once you hit your salary cap, your stuck with that pay. Working in my position for 12 + years and tried several times to transfer into a position for more pay and advancement. At one point I was told by the hiring manager. "Sorry your not going to have a good day, because I don't have good news for you." Poor way of telling someone with 25 years of working for a company that they didn't get the job. I didn't let it affect me or what I think of the company. But you can tell that you really have to be the right "type" of person for these Corporate positions. Sad.

    Advice to Management

    Just because your a VP or CEO doesn't mean it gives you the opportunity to tell someone their not going to have a good day because you don't have good news for them. Treat associates that have committed themselves to their jobs and be the best they can be with dignity and respect. Nothing good comes from negativity.

    Pros

    Night Shifts mean less people. The checklist itself is fairly simple. Lots of extra quiet time during shift.

    Cons

    Guests will treat you shockingly terrible and Managers will always side with them (understandably since this is hospitality industry). Night Shifts are either silent or bizarre.

    Advice to Management

    Protect the employees more.

    Pros

    Discouts at all Marriott Properties. That includes Vacation Clubs and Hotels. Pay is decent.

    Cons

    Hours, work 6 days a week, shifts change drastically (close one day and open the next). Management is all over the place. Most of management only cares about themselves and not the training or happiness of their employees.

    Advice to Management

    Care more, work more than a morning shift, don't say one thing and do the opposite. Especially with scheduling.

    It's a great company, with great benefits!! People don't leave the company , they leave the management !!!

    Cons

    Leave the Wheel alone!! STOP THE LOVE LINE!!
    You are ALWAYS blocked from the best tours source ( the blocks, is the way they found to manipulate the rotation, without been so obvious )
    Stop giving the best tours to only 4 reps!!
    GET OUT the front desk when wave starts( let them do their job)
    STOP letting the "top" reps pick their tours a day before!!

    Advice to Management

    STOP MANIPULATING THE TOURS!!
    I wish someone big at Marriott could read this.. Somebody needs to STOP what is going on at GRANDE VISTA Sales site !!
