I have been working at Marsh full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible work environment. Fair management (i.e., not micromanaged). Decent benefits. Time off is generous. Most colleagues are willing to collaborate in a way that allows one to thrive and grow.

    Cons

Pay could be better aligned with the industry. Some "old school" mentality where workers feel threatened by active and hungry talent. More mentoring of younger associates needed.

I worked at Marsh as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Marsh & McLennan provides opportunities for a summer TRAC associate to participate in many important interactions with clients during meetings. I was able to meet plenty of people within the business itself. Everyone I worked with was pleasant, and willing and able to answer any questions I may have had.

    Cons

The interns were not always given enough work to do, because in order to actually be able to manage accounts for clients a license is necessary. In that aspect the internship was not able to give an exact overview of what a full-time TRAC Associate does.

I have been working at Marsh full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

People I work with are great and my bosses have never micromanaged. Marsh gives you the tools to do your job. Marsh has really good benefits.

    Cons

Pay increases are very small and sometimes you go a few years without an increase. There is not any work from home flexibility.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees more (not just the top executives) and bring Marsh into the 21st century with remote working and give managers more ability for flexibility.
