    Pros

Great support for education and training. No shortage of helping employees to succeed

    Cons

Since acquisition a few years ago the company is becoming more and more corporate and only concerned with numbers

    Advice to Management

Stick with your roots and what worked to get you acquired in the first place

    Pros

MMA was a great company to work for as well as a great company to begin to learn about the health care and benefits industry.

    Cons

I really did not experience any cons working at MMA. The only thing that they could upgrade is the whole work environment.

    Pros

Great place to start in IT and the pay decently. Not too mention awesome health benefits.

    Cons

Loses its challenge fast and felt it was to political to move up the ladder. Solid job though.

    Advice to Management

Push Techs to move positions and guide them into a speciality. Otherwise you will lose them to other companies.

I worked at Marsh & McLennan Companies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Solid company, relatively laid back environment. No issues, but each experience will vary based on the relationship with your manager.

    Cons

Typical issues, de-centralized information coming from all over the place. Requires a lot of self study to understand the mechanics of the job.

    Advice to Management

Focus on a core direction and a few things that you will be great at, instead of trying to be good at all things.

    Pros

Some real diamonds among the debris. Staff can be motivated. There are some very skilled contractor and employees. Not a sweatshop...

    Cons

Highly risk-adverse corporate culture. The IT department is heavily outsourced and weakly managed. Instead of being goal or output driven, management is entirely process-driven. Department does not embrace any leading edge technology, open source or the cloud in any significant manner.

    Advice to Management

Improve IT investment, strategy and portfolio analysis. One size doesn't fit all. Stop relying on 3rd parties for above. OR just bite the bullet and fully outsource your iT functions.
