I have been working at Marsh & McLennan Companies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work from home is common and allowed, opportunities for exposure exist but you do have to pursue yourself, great benefits, senior management have regular skip-level meetings and take feedback to heart

    Cons

When they say your career is in your hands, they really mean it. There is NO help in advancement or mentoring or learning.

    Advice to Management

This company has very long tenure employees, so the loyalty is there. You need to cultivate the ambition in eager employees because they are leaving to find it elsewhere and you are left with the long-term, lazy, coasting people that don't learn new skills.

I have been working at Marsh & McLennan Companies (More than a year)

    Pros

a regular paycheck is about all you can look forward to

    Cons

Croneyism, no accountability at senior levels, mid/juniors are continuously scapegoated for management poor or lack of decisions. Seniors regularly steal credit for subordinates' work "Collateral Duties" is a catch-all phrase which, when decoded, means that you have to work long hours with no hope of recognition or compensation to mitigate senior managements' mistakes

    Advice to Management

Replace the current leadership team with new blood and break up the old boys' network

    Pros

A very basic job, simple interview process. A bunch of college buddies and myself applied here and were hired. It was an excellent stepping stone. A weekly paycheck, a large recognizable company. Great cafeteria.

    Cons

Traffic is brutal, hours are long. Highschool culture: employees and management. its very easy to get trapped here but , I wouldn't suggest working here longer than six months

    Advice to Management

    treat employees like adults

    Pros

Good large company environment, with good structure.
The technology is up to date, you can work remote and can get done all in short time.
People are there mostly for many years and they know what they're doing.
I love the large cafeteria, free large parking lots, beautiful walk around areas where people use to go out at lunch and walk. They have great volunteering options and networking, support groups.
Great benefits, very difficult to match anywhere else.
People that I work with are very talented at what they do and I learnt a lot from them. They are

    Cons

Very little opportunities to grow. Once you get to certain senior level, it's getting more and more difficult to move around. People are there for a very long time and they are not moving anywhere.
