I have been working at Marshalls part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people I work with are really nice. flexible hours and sorta decent pay.

    Cons

lack of communication between the management. Alot of favortism show toward certain workers, regardless of the years you have worked. We are suppose to be taught all areas of the store, but once they get you into a certain position, you are not taken out of that position so that you can learn all aspects of the store. Honesty is so important from Management so that a real trust can be established. But in our store, Management has been caught in lies and you have no one to talk to that you can trust.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with the employees and treat everyone equally. Stop showing prejudice toward certain people, and favortism has no place in the work place, especially from Management. Divide the hours equally between all employees. We all need the money, not just certain individuals.

I worked at Marshalls part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I feel like it really depends on your manager. If you have a great manager, then your time at the store is better.

    Cons

I mean it's retail so that's a con itself. So the main thing about it is other people not showing up to work, which puts the workload and pressure on everyone else.

    Advice to Management

Yes managers have bad days, but that tension falls on employees who have to face the customers. I have had too many horrible managers just working at one store for two years and they were the main reason why I left as soon as I could.
