I have been working at Marshalls part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They have flexible schedules and seem to work with all types of availability. The atmosphere is usually great and the people you work with are easy to get along with. They hire many different ethnic groups so you aren't surrounded by one superior race which is great!

    Cons

They pressure everyone to get customers to sign up for a credit card. They push you in ways they shouldn't. We are human and can only do so much especially when it comes to someone else's decision.

    Advice to Management

Have some sympathy. Sometimes I wonder if they have a heart. I understand managers aren't there to be your friend but they could at least not be there to act like a slave owner either.

I have been working at Marshalls part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The work is light, not too strenuous. There's always things to do, so there's no opportunity to get bored. The 10% helps get rid of tax, since I shop at Marshall's a lot. There's a lot of odd merchandise that comes in, which makes the job interesting.

    Cons

Management sometimes overlooks your availability because the trucks get backed up, and they schedule you on days you've told them you need off.

    Advice to Management

Don't schedule people on days they specifically ask to have off every week.

I worked at Marshalls part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There's no need to worry about being paid, the pay period is every week. The hours are flexible and adaptable; and the company does a great job at training its employees.

    Cons

The amount of pay is a bit low for the amount of labor and the pressure about getting customers to apply for TJX Reward cards is annoying (to both front end employees and customers).

    Advice to Management

Try to work with younger employees more on attendance and time management.
