I have been working at Martin Management Group full-time

    Pros

You get to spend your days with people that you end up calling friends. Customers are fun to work with.

    Cons

Pay is low. 99% of the time working out to less than minimum wage. (Illegal)
Management is very weak, non trained and pretty much just winging it from day to day.
Owners have no clue on the trends of the industry.
Marketing team is nearly incompetent as they can't even get the simplest of ads or advertising correct.
Most people don't enjoy their job and don't have the loyalty that corporate probably thinks they have.
Benefits are marginal at best as far as time off.

    Advice to Management

Putting the hard work in to hiring good staff needs good follow through. Training, motivation and time off to spend with family. Happy customers are a direct result of happy employees.

It's sad that Customers and the business needs come before the very employees that do the work.

I worked at Martin Management Group (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great for first time dealership workers.

    Cons

Hugely understaffed. Chad Martin's answer to anything is to throw a tantrum. Staff over worked and under paid.

    Pros

Very few. When you do make money, they get rid of you.

    Cons

Very weak management/ownership. The Martins have very little knowledge of the industry they are in and don't listen to their employees suggestions.

    Advice to Management

Sell the dealers and do what you really want to do.

    Pros

Cant think of one good reason to work here. Management does not value or defend their employees you are just a number.

    Cons

Management is weak in areas of decision making, resolving dealership issues, and usually runs away and leaves their subordinates out to dry when there are issues. Noticed a lot of illegal proceedures occur in the service dept, and was asked to perform illegal procedures several times involving insurance related jobs. And was let go after challenging those requests. They also like to punch you off the clock while you are working to save on overtime. Stay away from these people. Owners are uneducated when it comes to running a business and hang their employees out to dry when they dont hit their ridiculously calculated numbers that you are expected to hit while being constricted by their restraints.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps try your luck in fast food

    Pros

Benefits are offered within 90 days of employment.

    Cons

This company is trying to expand too quickly beyond their means which results in a revolving door of employees at all their dealerships and at the corporate level. A very unstable work environment with an inexperienced owner.
