I have been working at Martin Resource Management full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are endless possibilities once you're in. This company keeps growing, and doors are always opening. Co-workers are like family.

    Cons

SAFETY TRAINING!!! No person should be working on/in the plant until all safety training is given, and all personnel are given proper PPE for each job. This company has very poor safety managers who just travel around, acting like know-it-alls, but they do nothing except earn a paycheck. They point fingers, but do not provide plant the resources needed from the beginning.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be some thought put into planning when opening a new site. Seasoned trainers for all operators, extensive safety training, and all safety equipment must be on hand AND fully operational before production EVER STARTS! All PPE should be on hand. I understand corporations want to make money, but there should be oversight on safety protocols before boots ever hit the ground in such an environment.

I worked at Martin Resource Management full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Opportunities to grow Bonuses Fair wages for managers

    Cons

Low wages for hourly employees Outdated facilities and equipment Plant management spends too much time focused on micromanaging unimportant things and neglects important issues, which causes confusion and lack of efficiency. Bias towards the office staff and warehouse and plant workers viewed as expendable Lack of training Safety and environmental issues are neglected Understaffed

    Advice to Management

Stop focusing on people's appearance or your perception of them without actually knowing your employee's. Start focusing on the work that is being accomplished and who is behind it and compensate them fairly through wages and promotions. Take your managers advice more seriously so that you can avoid future problems and be proactive, instead of ignoring advice and being reactive to bad situations that could be avoided.

I worked at Martin Resource Management full-time

    Pros

Not many pros left. The division I worked for was a great place to work.

    Cons

Division management is run by a tyrant. Corporate officers act blind and deaf to unlawful behavior. Overworked employees with horrible pay. No reviews/No raises.

    Advice to Management

Kilgore management, quit protecting dead weight. Open your eyes. Your company has laid off or lost great employees due to your decisions to keep a division leader.

I have been working at Martin Resource Management full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, relatively friendly staff, lenient dress code

    Cons

Office politics are out of control. Career changes/moving within the company is frowned upon by upper level management. Workloads are not evenly distributed amongst employees. Write ups are used based on personal feelings instead of professional growth/critiquing.

    Advice to Management

Allow employees to move about the company as they wish for their own personal growth. Don't take career changes so personally. Be open and honest instead of having private conversations with/about uninvolved parties. HR should be impartial, not clearly protecting upper level management/corporate.

I worked at Martin Resource Management full-time

    Pros

Health Benefits. Other employees are great since they are all in the same boat. If you last long enough there is investment money

    Cons

Run by chauvinist grumpy old white men who see women as inferior. Anyone that works hard is either let go or expected to do more than anyone else without any extra pay. Don’t get reviews or pay increases every three years maybe if that. Allows men to do nothing and move them to management positions while others do the actual work. Promote people that don’t know how to do the job their support needs. Use admin to do their...

    Advice to Management

Respect the people that actually work hard. Talk to the actual employees on what is working instead of the disconnected management. Stop letting people who half-axx or don’t actually do anything for the company stay, while firing the good employees.
