Good job for a stay at home mom, as advertised. If that stay at home mom is good at sales. Like really good. The people who tend to do well at this college are people who already have a following on social media.
Cons
You have to meet your numbers, or they will fire you. It’s also not like most sales positions where they will give you leads to call, you generally have to create your own leads unless you start to make connections in the company, and then you MIGHT depending on your position and their needs be able to obtain a manifest of people who were previously interested in the college. They do give you a bit of time to meet your numbers, but even if you have previous sales experience, they don’t just hand you leads. You have to find other military spouses on social media and convince them to set an appointment with you. It is what it is 🤷🏼♀️ It felt to me like I was bugging people, I also got blasted in several Facebook pages with 50,000+ members for just doing my job at the college Job is not for the weak

Pros
Working from home was the only positive benefit.
Cons
You make thirteen dollars an hour which is below minimum wage. They lie in the description, and interview about what the job actually is. You are a recruiter who uses Facebook and to make matters worse, you do not make any extra money when you get a person to enroll in their courses. You are suppose to hit unrealistic goals each month with only using Facebook messenger. They state about having flexible hours but want you to work when they think is the best and split up your hours and do not care if you have prior obligations.

Direct management was great, led by example and truly cared about employees.
Cons
There are many reviews that speak of why working here is not a great option. Employees are trained with verbiage that navigates around questions illegal to ask. Ex: not allowed to ask about Mycaa consult appts, so training says to ask " let's chat a day before that appt. When would that be?" Employees do care about students they enroll, however, upper management sees them as a number and are always pushing for more enrollments. Staff is overworked, trained to be "jack of all trades" and required to hit a specific enrollment goal monthly/ orientated goal, etc. Management logs into our work FB accounts and will coach employees what to say/ not to say to potential students. After a student's first exam, they become "not our problem" and it no longer matters if they complete their course. MC has been called predatory within the military community and this has truth to it. Employees are hired to seek out potential students. Staff is not able to directly tell a student that they may have trouble transferring credits if moving onto a university after their program. Although accredited, national accreditation does make it more difficult for an incoming college to allow those credits to transfer. I also took a program at the College and it stated that laws for coding would be changing in 2013, I found this odd as it was 2022 and still being mentioned as of it were prior to that year. I realized the College went against my morals when they made changes and went from seeming to genuinely care about our potential students to being double booked on appts, put into chats where Reps need to jump on any available calls an AOC finds, pressured to enroll more and more students while not able to keep up with giving good customer service once we did enroll. If a student wants a program that MC doesn't offer, employees are encouraged to find a way to sell our programs, even if it doesn't seem to be the correct fit for someone's goals. The student support offered to students is extremely limited and exaggerated. While we used to openly offer "tutoring" students would say that wasn't an option for them. We used to offer customized scheduling, studying at own convenience- yet students would send screenshots of an instructor saying to get assignments done on the due dates as scheduled. The lack of communication between departments is beyond frustrating! If I told my students wrong/ incorrect info it was seen as not being a concern to MC as it wasn't intentional on my part. Multiple times I had been told info by a Manager that would later be found to be incorrect and I would have to call my student to tell them. I cared because I genuinely cared about my students, MC didn't give it any concern. The burn out rate is so high at the college because MC does not care about employees. They have such negativity in the community because instead of actually caring, they move on to the next potential student. It needs a major overhaul by the owner, who cares so little you'll see him once a year at a mandatory meeting.

Proven Track-Record of a Highly Producing Representative, Overworked and Underpaid
Jul 20, 2022 - Associate Director of AdmissionsRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Martinsburg College provided me professional growth and opportunities as a result of my hard work throughout the 3-year duration of my employment. Within those 3 years, I held 4 separate roles working my way up the ladder. I was given many travel opportunities and once-in-a-lifetime collaborative team experiences.
Cons
While maintaining various roles within the College, I was pressured to wear multiple hats to keep up with high-stakeholder expectations. While my direct management consistently supported my hard work and team's efforts, there was a constant uphill battle to prove both my worthiness as well as my representatives' while generating immense revenue for the organization at the President and CEO-levels of the company. Unfortunately, after years of top-producing results, I made the decision to part for the College due to my job quite literally being hired out from beneath me. I was told on a Friday that the following Monday there would be a new trainee taking my place and the College thought I would be a better fit for yet another role. I was not informed prior to this hiring and was completely blindsided by the position change. There was no reprimanding or professional coaching done, they simply planned to throw me into another role until they wanted me to clean up someone elses' mess.
