    Pros

Marvell has a good working environment in terms of colleagues, manager, working loads and stress. Working loads is quite balanced, so you won't get tremendous stress. Manager and colleagues are very nice and very willing to share their expertise. Marvell has excellent ESPP program and excellent subsidized food including breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are lots of events regularly too.

    Cons

Salary is relatively on the lower side in the market. But still competitive.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up.

I have been working at Marvell Semiconductor full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

New leadership team is definitely turning the company around.
Equality between men and women, unlike other tech companies in the news.
They hired a lot of new people that are positive and helping the change in culture

    Cons

Need more innovative engineers as well as head counts
15 PTO days with 5 used for shutdown is terrible
    Health care cost is increasing
    No flexibility working from home
    Traffic is really bad
Some departments are still working in their own silos
Overseas team may be difficult at times

    Advice to Management

    trim the negativity
invest more $ in NPI team head counts as many of them do not seem to have work life balance.
invest more in IT team as they need to move faster on project timelines.

    Pros

Good cafeteria, good gym, lot of work, upper management seems to be improving. Espp had better profits lately. Located conveniently.

    Cons

Lower management still has the same mindset. Decisions are driven by ego rather than technical reasons. Too much micromanagement. First level managers will hold grudge if their technical error is pointed out. Things are done for sake of completion, rather than doing them correctly.

    Advice to Management

    Get more customers

I have been working at Marvell Semiconductor full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I've been at Marvell for 1 year now. For the past year I was a contractor who recently got converted to a full-time role.
The Pros of working at Marvell:
CHANGE & GROWTH- Both are huge factors of why I choose to be a Marvell employee. You have the ability to advance and (here is the keyword) Learn* constantly.
The E-staff is all recently new but the company has had great feedback and support with every addition.

    Cons

I had to think of a con------ Mandatory end-of-year shutdown? even that is not a bad con.
It's a great time to have off with your family!

    Advice to Management

No advice but a comment: If you commute more than 30 minutes. You either love what you do or the management above you.

I have been working at Marvell Semiconductor full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Different company with new management. Bonuses pay out and ESPP has two year price lock. Fish tanks in lobby are cool.

    Cons

401k so so. Also there is no coasting here. Need to get your job done. There are still too many bad managers, leftover from previous regime.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of bad managers.

I have been working at Marvell Semiconductor as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

This summer I worked for Marvell as a software engineering intern in Enterprise Storage. The intern program began this year, and despite that, the director of the program, Toby Thomas, did a spectacular job of making it an enjoyable experience. The co-workers I've met so far are all great people. My manager has been in the industry for quite some time, and was very flexible in terms of projects, as long as I got the job done. The vibe I got from the team as well as upper management was a real can-do attitude, which made it all the more inspiring to work here.

The meals are also subsidized, and often fairly good. If not, Taco Bell is within walking distance. There's a trail nearby for hiking or biking, and Marvell has a gym that employees can use at any time.

    Cons

The benefits for interns are very minimal. We have five paid sick days in addition to paid holidays, but not much more than that.

The intern orientation was lacking this year, in part because this was Marvell's first year holding an internship program. Some of the interns weren't even aware that we had sick days.

From what I heard from other interns, some managers were not as available for their interns.

No relocation compensation, at least for interns.

I have been working at Marvell Semiconductor as an intern

    Pros

Good experience and you get to work on an actual project/product. For being such a recent program, the internship program is well-organized. The people are nice and knowledgeable.

    Cons

None that I can think of.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.
