Marvell as a company went through issues during the last two years. The program schedules keep changing until the last minute which adds unnecessary pressure to the engineers

    Pros

Good cafeteria, good gym, lot of work, upper management seems to be improving. Espp had better profits lately. Located conveniently.

    Cons

Lower management still has the same mindset. Decisions are driven by ego rather than technical reasons. Too much micromanagement. First level managers will hold grudge if their technical error is pointed out. Things are done for sake of completion, rather than doing them correctly.

    Advice to Management

    Get more customers

I have been working at Marvell Semiconductor full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nice cafetaria lunch/dinner price is subsized.
The gym is nice with many equipments, and nice basketball court, .

    Cons

Salary is lower compared to peer companies, and promotion is mostly based on luck for no obvious reason. Good technical skill doesn't really matter, it's only good to avoid lay-off if there is any.
The company also keeps so many low-performing or incompetent engineers for no reason.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of low-performing engineers that are detrimental to the group and work environment, and give more appreciation to strong-performing engineers.
