I have been working at Marvell Technology full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Marvell has a good working environment in terms of colleagues, manager, working loads and stress. Working loads is quite balanced, so you won't get tremendous stress. Manager and colleagues are very nice and very willing to share their expertise. Marvell has excellent ESPP program and excellent subsidized food including breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are lots of events regularly too.

    Cons

Salary is relatively on the lower side in the market. But still competitive.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up.

I have been working at Marvell Technology full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I've been at Marvell for 1 year now. For the past year I was a contractor who recently got converted to a full-time role.
The Pros of working at Marvell:
CHANGE & GROWTH- Both are huge factors of why I choose to be a Marvell employee. You have the ability to advance and (here is the keyword) Learn* constantly.
The E-staff is all recently new but the company has had great feedback and support with every addition.

    Cons

I had to think of a con------ Mandatory end-of-year shutdown? even that is not a bad con.
It's a great time to have off with your family!

    Advice to Management

No advice but a comment: If you commute more than 30 minutes. You either love what you do or the management above you.

I have been working at Marvell Technology full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Different company with new management. Bonuses pay out and ESPP has two year price lock. Fish tanks in lobby are cool.

    Cons

401k so so. Also there is no coasting here. Need to get your job done. There are still too many bad managers, leftover from previous regime.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of bad managers.

I have been working at Marvell Technology full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I started after the major layoff so considered an "outsider". There's a lot of animosity towards the previous CEO and while some welcomes the more business oriented direction the new management is taking, not all new people feel welcomed. Although new management is trying to hire talent and people who are more open to collaboration and communication, the company for the most part is still very individualized. People are not open to share information as if they are protecting their jobs and they might not even respond to you at all. However there are plenty of nice people as well so it just depends who your team members are and who your manager is as with every company/position.
You will do well if you keep an open mind.

Some Pros: food is great and highly subsidized.
Nice co workers but takes awhile to get "blend in"
Work life balance is ok but this again depends on the position/department and your manager but don't expect this at all times as it is with any company in silicon valley.
HR team is very good. The orientation process and the recruiter were all very nice.
    ESPP is very good

    Cons

no flexibility or WFH. Visibility means you have to physically be here and traffic is horrendous. Most people end up being here 12 hours eating breakfast lunch and dinner just to avoid traffic.
15 days of vacation and you need to save 5 days for holiday shut down.
Company is in survival mode meaning it is trimming off non profitable sectors to focus on the core. Possibility of more cost cutting in the future.
Health care coverage is not cheap. Around $70 per individual.

    Advice to Management

    Provide flexibility
    Increase PTO
New people are great but bring back some experienced and valued long term employees to provide guidance could benefit as well.
Promote general work ethics to decrease individualistic work environment: i.e "turn around time for emails/calls/msgs within 24 hours internally." Treat each other as collaborators and internal customers

I have been working at Marvell Technology full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly learning environment. Generally the people around like to help each other out and share ideas.

    Cons

Some technical people got promoted to management role just because of outstanding technical contributions, even they have no interests in management and are not qualified for being managers.
