    Advice to Management

Good to try. But if you have the better choice, that if totally up to you.

I worked at Marvell Technology full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

People are generally friendly; Good work environment; Most Engineers are nice to work with.
Work life balance is generally true.
Good cafeteria; Lunch and dinner are provided with very reasonable price.
Good facilities. Gym on campus is not bad.

    Cons

Salary is below market average. Low bonus (if you don't work at the key BU).
Less training programs for junior engineers. Less growth.
Market is shrinking; Good engineers are leaving; These days a lot engineers left are either juniors or seniors but not really technically strong.

    Advice to Management

Due to shrinking storage market and competitive consumer industry, company wide re-organization seems inevitable. But try not to lay off talent and hardworking engineers just because they are working on the projects the company is about to deinvest. As far as I know, a lot of young and hardworking engineers who are still under work visa got laid off in recent large reduction at HQ. Do more reviews and judge people by performance not only projects. Do not lay off engineers but leave the managers there. Company needs people actually do the work if you really want to get it back on track. Try to keep talent engineers and provide more training if you want to use cheap juniors. Hire people based on their knowledge and experience not the GPA.

    Pros

    Good working environment.
    friendly employee,
    good whether.
plenty of opportunity to find other job.

    Cons

house price is very high, has to compete with Apple, Google, Facebook employee, yet salary is not that high.
    Bad traffic.
    organization, layoff.

    Advice to Management

Higher management focus products more on innovations, but innovation does not always beat opponents. Innovation sounds good if it does not cost extra. In reality, it costs a lot of time and money. Nowadays, cheaper products, ok performance has a better change to win. If the products still sell, layoff may not be necessary.
