I have been working at Mary Kay full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Mary Kay is a great company to work for. Good benefits and good intentions from the Leadership teams. Some periods may be harder/busier than others, but this can be expected everywhere.

    Cons

Interactions within the company among the various business groups can be very political, which will get in the way of getting things done. I have not before worked in a company where politics had been taken to this degree.

I have been working at Mary Kay (More than a year)

    Pros

I am not an employee, but part of the field sales force. I have read many of the reviews. I think some of them reflect the signs of the times. People are not really interested in old fashion values or principles like integrity. To those who are employees continue to make a difference and your voice can be heard. If you are in the field don't be the weakest link. Be the consultant that Mary Kay would have wanted you to be. It is important to have good conduct in the field and treat people fairly and have respect for the person whether they're employees or consultants. They deserve the utmost respect and encouragement. I was at seminar 2017 and I didn't pick up on any negative behavior from corporate. I am glad because I would have drop them like a hot potato. We who are in the field need for you at corporate to reflect the core values that Mary Kay instilled into the company. If you need a check up from the neck up, which it sound like you do, then do it. In the field we are the Mary Kay that some people will ever met so, do be authentic and genuine you catch more bees with honey. So smile more!

    Cons

People are never able to understand the part that they play in the poor morale of an organization. Whiners and complainers, people giving substandard service and bad image of the company. The Company really needs to uplift the morale before the cancer grows into the sale force and you really have a mess on your hands.

    Advice to Management

Get back to basics, care about your employees. Do business as if God is watching and get rid of the ones that are causing internal strife and using century old biases in employment tactics. We live in the day of diversity and that deep rooted culture of the 'ole south, must be done away with, God don't bless no mess. . .Do a morale inventory. If you are going to be #1 then there are going to be some sacrifices to be made and doing away with sinking thinking is top priority. Do the homework and boost the morale of your corporate employees. Take some of these reviews to heart and do your homework. I love this company and I want to see it be the industry leader as the morale champion both corporately and in the field. #goteamMK
