    Pros

    It's looks semi-good on resume
Depending on the department, it's an ok stepping stone

    Cons

    Favoritism - A LOT
Very low pay & not enough raises
    Long hours
    No room for growth

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to favoritism patterns, stop hiring under qualified people without the necessary degrees and pay the staff in accordance to the work expected.

    Pros

great mission, best president and CEO, holistic approach to community needs

    Cons

very low payment, almost no increase in 5+ years of service, little growing potential, MC is growing to fast and without control, very incompetent COO, he seems numbers, not people.

    Advice to Management

if you want to retain medical providers increase payment and decrease patient load. Been founded as a Maternal and child care institution, you must have a paid maternity leave, this will be more truthful with the mission and will take care of your best asset... YOUR PEOPLE

I worked at Marys Center For Maternal and Child Care full-time

    Pros

Five weeks of PTO (But don't let it fool you... It is almost impossible to schedule time off because you will always be super busy)

    Cons

Unclear job expectations, disorganized and minimal structure, minimal guidance, coaching, and appreciation from supervisor, high turnover rate for younger staff while many veteran staff are slightly incompetent

    Advice to Management

I cannot attest to the clinical side, but the administrative side of the organization needs to undergo an intense operating model transformation. The organization is an amazing cause, but grew way too quickly and lacks a lot of operational competencies. The President/CEO is an incredible, humble, and caring person, but wears way too many hats to also be the person responsible for leading over 500 staff members. The idealism of the younger personnel was often taken advantage of. Many times younger staff were over-worked and underpaid while Veteran staff members were the first to leave each day and took home much higher paychecks. After voicing concerns with leadership we were more or less told to suck it up because it was the "Mary's Center way". My tenure with Mary's Center ended up becoming the most stressful and disorganized experience of my life and I am forever grateful to now have this weight off my chest and finally restore the concept of "work/life balance" in my personal life.

I have been working at Marys Center For Maternal and Child Care (More than 8 years)

    Pros

great mission, super for the community, direct-service-level employees are devoted to their clients and to the neighborhoods they serve

    Cons

has grown too fast in recent years, can't support current staff in a professional manner. not enough basic things like office space/desks to allow for a comfortable work environment, even by non-profit standards

    Advice to Management

Invest more in the development of the staff, do more to develop employees, be willing to pay top dollar for high-value employees in key positions
