    Pros

Comfortable work environment with good benefits.

    Cons

Too much favoritism, I feel like some managers do not hire the people with right skills.

    Advice to Management

Control favoritism so people with real skills can have opportunities as well.

I worked at Marzetti full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The products the company makes are good. The pay is decent.

    Cons

Benefits are not that good, very negative work environment. No training or communication. There is a good ole boy club that if you are a part of you will succeed otherwise prepare to be torn down, yelled at and humiliated. Old run down and dirty building. Management is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to communicate and treat people with respect. Repair and clean up the facility and give us what we need to do our jobs. Training would be a good thing to have.

    I worked at Marzetti full-time

    Pros

Decent sized facility, but one of the busiest locations so there's always overtime (nights and weekends) offered. Thus, the money is great!

    Cons

Raking in money and the overtime can be great and all, but just like everything else in the world- too much of anything isn't good. When the lines have to run, quality assurance has to be there and it became too much. We were averaging 30hrs of overtime every two weeks.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more people!

I worked at Marzetti full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Marzetti is a great company to work for, if you love overtime and plan on doing nothing with your career life. If you plan on staying there for a long time the pay and the benefits are great.

    Cons

There are a lot of issues between races there. Some feel that they are more superior than other races and the communication is not that great between supervisors and production workers.

    Advice to Management

Please work on communication for the sake of the future employees to work there! and work on trying to be more fair about things that go on.

    Pros

Great products, midwest ethic, acts like a family owned co - not public

    Cons

    Not fact based decision making

I have been working at Marzetti full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Plant people are great. Plant managers get vans to use.
You get to meet some great customers and people from other companies.

    Cons

Corporate HR is worthless. The company has grown and forgot why people enjoy working there. It's all about profits no one cares about the individual.

    Advice to Management

    Replace the senior HR Management

I have been working at Marzetti full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great management. Treat me as an equal. Value my ideas. Very promotable when the possibilities arrive. Comparable wages with our competitors.

    Cons

Employee turn over and at times I may have to cover shifts or other plants. Some micro managing. Could use better training for new hires.

    Advice to Management

I've heard from long term associates that it used to be better at our plant but I find it hard to believe. Meaning the plant overall was an excellent career move on my part and one I'm glad I decided to make. This job literally saved me from a horrible previous employer, therefore I owe this company everything for making my life much more enjoyable. My plant manager thrives on making everyone "family" oriented. Overall this may very well be one of the best jobs I've ever had. I plan on making this my last stop.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    I worked at Marzetti full-time

    Pros

Opportunity to learn some new things. Lot's of ability to go and work collaboratively with different departments simultaneously

    Cons

Poor paying, compared to other jobs in the industry. Lots of infighting between senior leadership to the point where it makes daily operations with other departments inherently adversarial.
