    Pros

They allow for overtime and promotions

Very hectic depending on you department The Colorado region was constantly in a state of emergency because of improper construction planning. That is not the case everywhere.

I worked at MasTec Network Solutions full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Can be very satisfying work wise, and the liberty to drive projects.

    Cons

Local markets do not listen to their managers and drive margin loss, then they are ready to lay off personnel. It is an upper management issue not a performance issue, but lack of upper management to manage the customer.

I have been working at MasTec Network Solutions full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

A steady, though stagnant paycheck. Decent benefits and a 401k, paid PTO make this a decent place to work. Deadlines are crazy given the customers demands, but as long as the work gets done schedules are fairly flexible. Management are made up of good men who seemingly arent allowed to spend money on anything.

    Cons

I cant speak for wireless which seems to be doing okay, but the wireline industry seems to be taking a beating. Stagnant wages, a complete reluctance to invest in training, a lack of proper tools, vehicles, and resources that arent hand-me-downs from wireless, and general lack of career growth have really resulted this sector devolving into something I wouldnt recommend to anyone. We were even included on an employee-retention-bonus email chain... that applied only to wireless employees and not wireline. It was as if the company was going out of their way to tell us we dont really matter even in a job market with record low unemployment rates. As it stands, our current operation hinges on the talents of 20+ year telcom vets with knowledge, skills, and know-how all gained from previous employers - not Mastec. These remaining technicians are so spread thin that they dont have the time and energy to pass on their knowledge to a new generation of low paid, low-skilled, and very untrained wave of new installers. I cant be certain if wireline work is truly dying out in favor of wireless, hot new trendy technology sectors, business models, etc, but it most certainly is dying in the eyes of our leadership.

I have been working at MasTec Network Solutions full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

It's a job and the benefits are pretty good

    Cons

Horrible management in the Supply Chain group. No work life balance, whatsoever and no job security. The company expects employees to work 12+ hours per day, 6-7 days per week. The warehouses are always understaffed and have a ton of employee turnover. Working between the market and the supply chain management creates an almost hostile work environment on a daily basis. The company has one primary customer who constantly pulls in and pushes out work and layoffs are very common. Absolutely no job security at this company regardless of time of service.

I worked at MasTec Network Solutions

    Pros

The PTO was nice... I guess?

    Cons

If you’re looking for the biggest group of immature leaders and clique-like team members then congratulations, you found the perfect company. I was brought on with little to no training on my job. I had to learn everything on my own. This in turn led me to teaching people how to do my job. I showed them the ropes and I stuck with them every time they had a question. I was with the company for 4+ years and I learned 6 roles under my one job title. I was passed over time and time again for promotions and I never got a raise except for my normal merit for the previous year. The leadership in my market was a joke. A literal joke. I did my bosses job for almost 4-5 months while she was out. All I got was a “thanks for doing my job for me” when she got back. She also then completely took back the job I was doing leaving me with no work and management not being able to find a position for me yet I know 2 other departments that could have used help. This company will squeeze every last drop of blood out of you if it means they make money. My advice to you, steer far FAR away from this company. You’re just a number and you’re just a human with a keyboard to them.

    Pros

    It's a job, that;s about it.

    Cons

Awful training program with constant micromanagement. If you're new to the industry you will have a hard time since they don't have any patience.
