I have been working at Mashable full-time for more than a year

    Pros

People Unlimited PTO Snacks Happy Hours Mashable offers employees the typical perks of most start ups. Snacks, monthly breakfast, monthly happy hours, unlimited pto. I can only speak to my experience while working here, and I realize everyone's experience may differ. Mashable has done a pretty great job at hiring people that fit into the company culture. You can really work with some great people while at...

    Cons

Doesn't offer free lunch (this is technically not a con, but it would be a great perk to have) Quarterly evaluations.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to value your employees.

I worked at Mashable full-time for more than a year

    Pros

People, work/life balance, happy hours, good name

    Cons

Revolving door on certain teams/leadership, lack of concrete vision, relatively stagnant career growth

    Advice to Management

Value your current employees enough to make them stay. People leaving causes undue burden on the remaining employees, so it continues the cycle.

    I worked at Mashable

    Pros

Amazing culture. Beautiful new office. Everyone loves their jobs. Lots of enthusiasm around the office. Interns are treated just like employees. Start-up vibe with solid financial backing since the company is expanding very quickly and receiving lots of venture capital injections. Everyone's always happy to help you. Weekly breakfasts and happy hours. You can easily have a conversation with a C-suite employee over beer...

    Cons

Mashable does tend to hire a lot of its interns, but since it's a growing company, they won't write you an full time offer months/a year in advance like a lot of bigger companies do.

I have been working at Mashable full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Many opportunities to learn new skills - staff are friendly and willing to take time out to help, teach, get involved, etc. I've found all levels of management ready and willing to meet, answer questions and offer advice. Very cool office - well stocked kitchen, company hosted happy hours/team breakfasts.

    Cons

Must be willing to advocate for your own career opportunities - speak up! Office politics sometimes get in the way of meaningful, timely problem solving.

    Advice to Management

Senior level management - keep up the accessibility with staff!
