nothing besides the pay. that the only redeeming factor of working in this place
Cons
i worked in the Boston office and i was met with paolo. as a manger he boats of his years of teaching experince but in realty hid in his office and avoided any work because he "wasnt emotionally ready" . if youre even a minute late you will have to have a meeting with management about "commitment" and "if you really want to be here or not" paolo is a rude, flamboyant ,sexually charged biased manager who talks about former employees negativly (some of which whom have been gone for years) and boats of how he is best friends with the higher ups of the company and can do whatever he wants. ive seen employees hangout up customers and refer to them as "mfers" and even LAUGHING at high risk suicide patients callin for help. this all lead to me deciding i coudlnt work in this toxic environment anymore

Mismanaged

Relaxed atmosphere, dress-code, flex schedules . When there was a company-wide problem, ie dissatisfaction with benefits there were company wide meeting to resolve these issues.
Cons
Experienced a lot of mismanagement while I was there, there were many interdepartmental, issues between employees and manegers that werent properly handled, unfairness, overzealous micromanagement, some favoriteism, I was never able to get a promotion in, or outside of my department, low morale the 14 years I was there, In my department.- Note that I am only speaking of the department i was working in-Claims/Operations. Very low salary ( in this department). Company was in-and-out of Health plans, at times they chose plans that were very inappropriate, there was an employee who had some hospitalizations and was ending working just to pay off these fees

Great place to work
Mar 14, 2013 - Mid-Level Management in Boston, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I worked at MBHP for over 10 years and thought it was a great place to work. Senior Managers and leaders took the time to know and respect all the workers and went out of their way to make sure that everyone felt that they were valued and heard.
Cons
The employee health care plan is shameful for a healthcare organization. MBHP is part of a national organization so the local office does not have a choice in what is dictated. It's a high deductible then it's an 80/20 payment mix.

The people who work for MBHP are mission-driven and dedicated to providing quality health-care to low-income MA residents.
Cons
MBHP is limited in their ability to be innovative due to their ties to a large for-profit company such as Value Options. MBHP contracts are non-profit and this sets up internal conflicts that are frustrating.
